Re: 7.19 & 7.20 Weekend Stretching
Hi everyone and happy weekend!!
After my not frugal evening out with friends last night, we are having a very frugal Sat & Sun. Today, I am doing some volunteer work for a few hours. DH is taking the kids swimming (DS is SO excited!). We will eat at home all weekend but might get takeout tonight (a Sat Nite treat for us!). Otherwise, tomorrow, no real plans, just hanging out. I do need to work, do some cleaning and laundry but basically, an open weekend!
Have a good one all!~Jen

Re: 7.19 & 7.20 Weekend Stretching
Trying to stretch this weekend. All meals from home. DB has to work today and I doubt we'll do anything tomrrow. I've been trying to get in to see the doctor since last night, but looks like they're closed this weekend. Hoping I don't have to wind up going to urgent care, argh...if so that's $150 copay! Plus the $25 to follow-up with my doctor. Blech. Dunno, the left side of my face won't move (can't smile, can't drink except with a straw, can't spit - brushing teeth was fun this morning!), but no numbness or pain in the arm. One of our neighbors is a nurse and thinks it might be Bell's Palsey because of the slow dropping in the face that's happening, but can't be sure. If I get a headache or arm ache I'll need to go to the ER to make sure its not a mild-stroke. 26 is too young for this stuff! I'm just going to rest and take it easy this weekend.

Re: 7.19 & 7.20 Weekend Stretching
Stretching so far today - working from home all morning. Best part of the morning was signing the book publisher's contract, whoopeee. (I wish that it was for a novel that would change the world...but a "how to open your own business" guide is okay too, lol) . Also am working on decluttering my office. I moved about one-third of the boxes, etc. to the trash or to attic, so that felt good.
Getting ready to go to work tonight, then tomorrow is my day totally off so we'll have some fun I'm going to go and try to get two more loads of books, paper and boxes up to the attic before I leave for work. hugs, and keep cool. peace.

Trying to stretch money this weekend. Making Taco Salad for
dinner tonight and fried zucchini. I think i will make some rice
too. Hope there is enough leftover for my husband's lunch tomorrow.
Otherwise he will be taking sandwiches. Washed 2 loads of laundry today
and hung them out. It is supposed to rain most of the week, so I have
to getmy laundry done. Also been cleaning our bedroom today.

Re: 7.19 & 7.20 Weekend Stretching
Ariana- please go in, those are frightening symptoms. Dixie, that is a good friend. We are trying to line up housig for dh- found a great COTTAGE right by the lake, the old lady neighbors called the owner and said they didn't want children there. So she had called and cancelled. So dh put a note in one of the neighbors mailboxes saying that was a very unkind thing to do. So now we called, and she's calling them and it will get decided. She is out in California. The kids and I would be there maybe two weekends a month. Plus she wanted references, and I've owned 5 houses in the last 18 years, before that just had handshake leases. I wasn't sure how to get what she wantd. Dh has another apt there lined up, a trashed one, messy and smoky, that he can get, but second floor above crabby neighbors. Not a very successful search. He needs a place by Thursday. Other bad news, dh found out that the water I have been mopping up all week has been coming from the water heater. We are off to Sears, to charge one, it is leaking from a joint, not fixable. Maybe 20 years old. We have a Sears card with no charges on. Went to the library, that was fun. Also a friend sent a $50 gc for school supplies and whatever we need. She previously has given us two other GC to help tide us over. We've been friends for 28 years. Have a good weekend!

Re: 7.19 & 7.20 Weekend Stretching
good news and bad news so far this weekend. Ariana, please keep us posted. I hope it is not serious.
Bad news on the water heater. We had to replace ours a few years ago. They are only good for about 10 or so years.
mid afternoon here so far. busy day. dh was using hot water and vinegar to get the lino glue off the wood floors in the hallway. I weedeated the back and front yard, sorted and bought the recyclables to the bottle depot $23.30 later. can you tell that had we had a lot! in to the pne fair fund it goes. my friend came over to pick raspberries. my neighbour's cherry tree hangs over the roof of my neighbours garage and they said that she can have them. So my friend and I went on the roof and picked cherries. shared them around. she is disabled and over 65. She says she is staying at 42 lol. so going on the roof is not an option.
took down the laundry that had been up for a couple of days and hung a new load. have one more to go on the line. dishes etc. outside is tidied up but the inside of the house is a mess.
going out to the spaghetti factory for dinner with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. off to do dishes

Ariana your neighbor is right that does sound like bells palsey and needs to be checkes ASAP! Dh had it 10 yrs and was taken right to the er but even with the quick medical attention, medicine and pt it still took a year to clear up.

26 is too young for this stuff!
26 might be too young but it happens to people that young and even younger please get that checked.

Re: 7.19 & 7.20 Weekend Stretching
Yesterday was my B/day, Mom took me out for lunch. Dh was going to take me out for dinner, but came home to change after work and fell asleep in his chair. He worked all day in 101 weather outside grinding trees. Let him sleep and we had fried egg sandwiches about 11pm then went to bed. Staying in the rest of the w/e it cheaper than leaving.
