7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
How are you stretching the $ today?

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Still having issues of sleeping but am working on it. 8pm-5am is good, right? - Picking up medication today.
- Not very frugal but driving 1/2 hr one way to meet with sis for lunch. I have to deliver a shirt, she actually gifted me at Christmas, for work. We haven't done lunch in quite awhile. Might stop at a shoe store, since it's in MN, no sales tax. Then drive home.
- If it doesn't rain, will mow lawn, with the new mower (which took me over an hr to set up... tool less? my bum!)
- Still need to do the load of laundry. (I have been just forgetting about it and was too tired to do it last night).
- AC will be on since it will be muggy... with storms around.
- Only eating ~1 meal a day, so snacks will be in house. (Not sure why I'm not eating).

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Need to finish prepping for Saturday morning shopping trip -- get my coupons together, figure otu which stores I'm hitting, which order I'm going to them in, etc. Also, going to WalGreens today to pick up meds and maybe grab one or two other items. Last day of work for the week and I get to wear jeans today!!! I <3 denim days! Breakfast and lunch from home; dinner is a free pizza from pizza hut, so just gas $ to get it. We're going to watch the Spiderwick Chronicles and eat pizza and fresh plums for dinner tonight in front of the t.v. DD will be so excited when I come home with pizza!
I also realized I have to do my every other week trip to the laundry mat this weekend; I'd like to do that on Saturday, but that means getting there when it's busy since I shop in the morning. So maybe Sunday morning. I'll have to think about it.
Putting the ODD in goddess every day!

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Still working on what i need to do today.
Went downstate to MSU for the Ag Expo Wednesday and gots loads of free info and freebie samples, pens, pencils, ds got a tshirt, all sorts of stuff. Saw an antique tractor pull. Got sunburned, had fun! Picked up 2 new registered milk goats for $400 on our way back. Jumanji and Jitterbug are aquainting themselves with our other ladies in the herd.
Thursday did errands and delivered cheese and eggs.
Now i'm recovering today and figuring out what needs to be done. I have milk to freeze for a family, and yogurt to make. Basements a disaster; need to clean my canning room as green beans are almost ready to pick. I'm dragging my feet on that one, waiting for help from a son or two or hubby.

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Not a stretchy one here we have to get ds#3 from camp this afternoon dh has to take the night off from his pt job so out $$ there, we have to drive 180 miles round trip so there goes gas $$, the shortest and quickest way there is along the thru way so $$ for tolls, plus @ some point we stop and eat so more $$ right now we're debating about taking a picnic supper or stopping for supper. I just checked the menu @ our favorite resturant (the one where we got the ice cream last week) and the cheapest thing offered for those over 10 is $7 which means they're out. We are trying to decide if we're going to take a picnic supper or if we're going to do the b1g1f coupons like we did last week. It's supposed to get up to 91 today so the a/c is on with the fans and I'm passing out frozen bottles of water.

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
I'm taking Aurora to the vet's to have her claws trimmed this afternoon. It's $12.00, but that is way cheaper than what it would cost if she bit me and I had to have medical care for a cat bite. I have allergies to antibiotics and Mom told me in 2006 that I was to take Aurora to the vet's monthly. In 2005 I was bitten by a cat I used to own and I got very sick plus I had to have a Tetanus shot.
I will be picking up Aurora's food at the vet's while we're out. It is something she likes so there is no waste.
I have to buy a rotisserie chicken before July 22 so that I get my last coupon. I have my 5 coupons and with this coupon I will be able to get a 7th chicken free. I will miss getting the chicken coupons now that the promotion is ending. I did learn that Friday is $1.00 off chicken in the deli at Food Lion.
Over the week-end I have to return books to the library.
I'm probably eating at home today.

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Good morning everyone!
I've been praying for all of you even though I haven't been able to post much in the last few days.
I've been trying to use all my available energy to work on finances. It seems like it wouldn't be that complicated, but it is. On top of that, two of my many annoying symptoms are lightheadedness and vertigo. Imagine trying to figure out finances while being ready to faint--on a Tilt a Whirl. Needless to say, it's a slow process. When I feel better, I'll try to update you on the latest since many of you are praying. (I appreciate that more than you know!!!)
Luvd Lioness, I didn't read it until a few days after you posted it, but you said you were applying for disability too. I am praying for that!
I got some hard news yesterday. The little girl that I have sponsored for the last seven years (who is the sweetest little girl) was abandoned with her siblings by her mom and now has gone to live with relatives in a part of the country where they no programs, so they have no contact with her. Apart from some miracle, I will never be able to contact her again. They don't know what city or the names of the relatives. She LOVED going to the programs (through Compassion) and wrote about it in every letter for seven years. Not only did her mom abandon her, but now she can't see those friends or teachers and I can't know how she is. Her birthday is coming up too. Please pray that the relatives are wonderful and that she and her brother and sister are happy and safe there.
I hope all of you have wonderful days!
"...for the happy heart, life is a continual feast. Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil." Proverbs 15:15b-16 NLT
If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. --Martin Luther King, Jr.

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Today is a 1/2 work day for me. I did pick up a bagel this morning but brought my own coffee. I need to get gas and I saw a report on the news that gas is going down in Nebraska. In some parts of the state, gas is back under $4 a gallon. The report showed a Lincoln station with gas for $3.90. I hope it's true b/c I plan to fill up! Otherwise, no plans for today. Cloudy and rainy. Maybe a trip to the library this afternoon with the boys.
We are taking boxes and bags over to my brother in law and sister in law's house this weekend for the family garage sale. It's been nice to have a reason to sort and declutter, plus we are moving and don't want to haul extra to the new house. We won't make any money as this is a fundraising garage sale for NF research. My oldest nephew has a brain tumor and suffers from neurofibromotosis, or NF1. Our "trash" will hopefully be someone else's "treasure" and sell well and support one of my dearest causes. Pray for good weather next Thurs and Friday for the 2 day sale!
We continue to sort and pack some things for our move next month. We know things will be tight for a few months but hopefully, my budgeting and determination to live frugally will keep us afloat. DH and I have vowed to not get out the credit cards! Our relator is coming by tomorrow with a market analysis on our house so we can get it on the market. Hopefully someone working at the University will want to live within walking distance and need a 3 bedroom ranch!
Have a great weekend! We have some family in town so hope to spend time with DH dear aunt and uncle.

Re: 7.18 Friday's $ Stretching
Girls have last swimming, cancelled yesterday duer to lightening. Then I might drive down and meet dh in his new town, and find an apt, after which we pick up our CSA. I thought he had 4 days off next week, he will have one or two. I am leaning toward $100 more a month, $450 for a month for a 2 bedroom, but we anticpate being there 7 or 8 days a month, the extra 7-8 or us. Not comfy in a one bedroom. Plus this is a four plex, maybe less picky about guests than a big complex. He won't be able to come up here much. Have a great day!
