    Not doing too much today:

    • going to feed that cat one last time
    • going major grocery shopping
    • come home and sleep/relax (fibro is really is taking it's toll on me)
    • AC will be on due to humidity and it being kinda warm out

We had wonderful weather this weekend, low humidity, breezy. Now back into the humidity box! No fun here without AC. When it gets bad we live in our basement, stays 15-20 degrees cooler down there. But kitchen is upstairs, so always a challenge.

Stretchy here, only money spent will be gas to get from work and back.

We had friends over for supper last night, grilled burgers, made homemade potatoe salad (from small red potatoes from the garden), Bush's grilling beans (love these beans!), and watermelon.

Tonight will be leftovers. There is enough ground beef left for 2 burgers, some l/o potato salad and beans, and plenty of watermelon, since I chunked up a whole one yesterday.

Tonight will watch the home run derby on ESPN-Justin Morneau is in it from the Minnesota Twins, so it should be fun!

Luvd_Lioness, get some sleep, I don't know how you are doing it. I got up at 4 am for work and saw you had already posted!!

Have a great day and stay cool!!         Julie

Rainy and muggy today. DH has to drive to Cape Cod for meeting with a churchs leaders. He will stay overnight with one of the Pastors. So gas for that but he should get that money back. I am sure he will stop for some food on the way. food wil be leftovers for lunch. I will make homemade pizza for dinner. DD and DS love it. Not DH favorite so good time to make it. Actuall, he like it just cant have the tomatoes. Bothers his tummy. I will make half pepperoni and half cheese. Have everything for it. Making ice tea to drink. Putting together a list for Walgreens with my coupons. Coke is three 12 packs for $9.00. I have a coupons for one free and two coupons for $1 off. so 3 12 pakcs will be $4. Have a nice day and enjoy summer. It goes too fast. Babs

    morning all,

i am so tired this am, the lake trip wore me out, lol, last night i did a few loads of laundry, mopped the kitchen floor and took trash out,and cleaned up here.

ds is going to camp this am,he is so happy, but his face is sunburned from the lake trip, i kept putting coppertone sunblock spray on him, but you know boys  " enough mom!"

going to cvs this am, cereal is on sale and i have great coupons, which will bring the price to $1.59, which is better than aldi's!

i have to schedule a appt. for dh to get refills on his meds

    have a great day all

Making an Aldi trip today.   Have a large list but am hoping to stock up for the rest of the month.

A/C is on as it's rainy and muggy.    Keeping it at 80 though.

Dinner will be spaghetti with some leftover chicken cutlets and some sausage from the freezer.

I forgot to file my unemployment claim yesterday and don't know if it's too late to do so.   Dumb mistake on my part!   Also am stressing a bit on finances.    All our property tax bills are due by end of July and it looks like DH has a broken foot which will put him out of work for 4-6 weeks.   He'll get his base pay but no OT and I was counting on that to do some catch up.    We also have DD's birthday party and my In Laws coming to stay for a week so increased expenses there (along with more stress!!).    And needless to say everytime I see the news, read the news or get gas it's stressful.....need to avoid the news I think.

Pretty stretchy day here.  $ out for work commute and a dr's appt; my office changed ins. companies and that made my script from gyn null & void so my family dr said he would write me a new one.  I'm also going to speak to him about my knee which whacked the dashboard in my car accident almost a month ago and is still bothersome.

Left note for DH to finish up the grapes and leftover goulash so it gets eaten before it goes bad.  Haven't brought it up yet to the family (will at dinner tonight), but we are going to have to cut back on the milk consumption.  It finally hit $4/gallon here and I just can't afford $8/week in milk, especially once school starts and my food budget goes from $100/week to $75/week.  My DH is the worst about this -- every morning he has a bowl of cereal that's 3xs the serving size and then fills it up with milk until the cereal floats to the top of the bowl.  Granted, he eats the whole thing, but still... gotta cut back.  DD isn't much of a milk drinker so cutting her's back isn't that big of deal.  She'll happily eat other dairy products and loves vegetables so I'm sure her calcium intake will be just fine.

Putting the ODD in goddess every day!

    Re: Monday 7.14 $ Stretching

Today is going to follow in tune with the weekend not very stretchy at all. On Saturday I found some Sergeants flea shampoo and drops for the poor dog who is constantly either scratching or biting @ a dollar store. Yesterday before leaving for df's pig roast and then taking ds#3 to camp I told ds#1 that before we got back he had to give the dog a flea bath. He calls me once at the camp (we're in the mnts he's in a valley so the fact I got a call and could hear him was a miracle) telling me that he was giving the dog a bath in the bath tub and the dog was bleeding from his tail area I told him it was proabably from a scab or something and that I would watch the dog over the next couple days to make sure he was ok. He calls a second time starting out with "Good news bad news the good news is the house isn't on fire..." as he was rinising the dog off with one hand on the shower head and another on the dog the dog knocked him off balance and he pulled the shower head out of the wall.

I'm going to try and focus on the bright spot of our weekend after dropping ds#3 off @ camp we stopped @ one of our favorite ice cream places to stretch after and hour and a half straight drive. We were trying to stick with a $10 budget for me, dh, dd#2 & ds#2 when ds ordered something that would take us over budget dh decied to skip his ice cream. A few minuets after we were served the waitress came back and told us we were all set the woman at the booth behind us paid for our order then asked if we knew her...no we'd never seen her before in our lives. Dh ordered and paid for a large ice cream cone ($3.68) for himself since we now had more money. When we got closer to home (10 miles out) dh said he was to tired from the 4 hour round trip drive to cook, we used b1g1f coupons from our entertainment book to buy supper for us and ds#1 so 2 whoppers, 2 double cheese burgers & 2 chicken sandwiches for $12 was supper with ds#2 cooking the fries.

So today I have to get a copper elbow and a shower head line and am hoping that the handy man I called will be able to stop by after work and do the quick repair other wise it will be the local plumber some time this week when they get a chance to get over here. The good news is that the access pannel is already off and since I have the parts on hand (I'll buy them from the plumber's plumbing supply store) I'll be paying either a labor price (handyman) or service call and labor price (plumber). Ds has already been told he's paying 1/2 the bill no matter what.

Once dd#2 &I get the parts we're going to go to my bedroom where we'll start tearing out the ashfault tile that is on the floor and maybe get some of the tarpaper up as well, under that stuff there's a nice old wood floor. I'm not going to refinish the floor but once I get rid of the tile and the tar paper I'll put a wall to wall carpet down. If in the future I (or another owner) decide that a wood floor would be a nice look it just has to be refinished.

I'm not sure what supper is tonight ds#1 is cooking after he goes grocery shopping for himself while we were gone he drank gallon of milk himself. He had to pay dh back for the milk and since he's working 2 jobs and will either be on his own or @ college in the next couple years he can learn how to grocery shop and pay for his own food.

Good morning everyone. It should be a stretchy day here for us. Its DB's day off.  We had bagels for breakfast. I brought coffee and a snack. Lunch will be at home, probably ramen noodles or sandwiches. Dinner tonight I plan to make breakfast; bacon, eggs, fried potatoes & pancakes or biscuits. Maybe we'll do a fire tonight.

The only money out will be gas to/from work for me.

    nanagain2000:
    bleeding from his tail area

Nanagain2000, this could be a sign of something extremely serious.  I cared for a dog last year who had been diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and who had a splenectomy.  When his systems finally began to shut down, he began bleeding from the tail area; it was a sign of internal bleeding.  A friend of mine told me that internal bleeding is extremely painful, as she had once had the unfortunate experience herself.  As to scratching, if there is no evidence of fleas or flea dirt, it could be allergies to something in the dog's food.  Not sure what kind of dog or dog food you have.  Many dogs are allergic to corn, wheat or even food coloring, and these things are often common in dog food.  Sorry to hear about the plumbing problem!

Not too stretchy a week for me this week.  Need a new muffler.  Two dogs are at the groomer now getting summer cut shavedowns; two more will go Wednesday.  Food will be from the pantry because of that.  :-)

    Have a great day everyone!
