    mamasjob:

I am going to try to find ways to bless others with what we have been given. It doesn't have to be monetary all the time as these other posts have stated.

Amen! It's amazing how such a small gensture on our part (whether it be helping a family in need, giving part of our garden harvest to someone else, listening, sending someone a card just because, offering to provide a service to someone, etc.) can be such a HUGE blessing for someone else. I find that often I will feel the "nudge" to do something for someone and then I feel silly and think "what good would that do?" or "how could that make a difference?" But God works through us and we have to just go with His "nudging" and not try to see the bigger picture because it isn't always something that He wants us to see or something we need to see. Sometimes we are simply planting seeds and someone comes after us to water and fertilize. We never know. So, I've been trying to really keep those things in mind lately. I heard on something recently (maybe a movie or something, can't remember) that has really stuck in my mind: When you think about your life think about two things: did you experience joy? and did you bring joy to others? To me, these two are intertwined.

    God bless,

    Julie

My neighbor brought me 2 gallon size bags of fresh corn yesterday! yummmy!!!!

This neighbor is wonderful. He is atleast in his mid-70s, if not older and suffers from a horrible case of osteoperosis or something because he is very VERY hunched over. He has a big garden and that's about all he does. He goes out several times a day to water and "talk to" his garden. LOL. He and I have some wonderful conversations (he says it's nice to see a "young person" so interested in gardening) and he is always leaving "treats" at my doorstep.

    God bless,

    Julie

This is such a great post.  I hope others add to it it is a real treat to be reminded of how God blesses others thru us.

I have a friend who lost her mother and she gave me a whole bag of clothes and they all fit the nurse who cares for my mother.

Our VBS had leftover desserts and sent them home with my son for his Granny and his Uncle Mike who live with us and they were blessed.

    Have a blessed weekend

I thought I would add to this thread again.... I personally felt that it was a very uplifting topic and thoroughly enjoyed everyone's responses.

    - We just got a $100 refund check from the hospital. Somehow they must've figured they over billed us! Though our bill wasn't much to start with, it was still nice to get a refund!

    - I got a bill in yesterday for some lab work they did for the pregnancy. It was almost $200! I was shocked because our insurance is awesome and we aren't supposed to pay anything for lab work (in fact, the whole pregnancy, including doc fees and hospital stay, will cost me $390 max!) Anyways, I called today to find out what the deal was and turns out they just had our wrong insurance info on file. I gave them the correct info and they told me to disregard bill.

    God bless,

    Julie

    I love threads like this!

Today I took the car in for what I thought might be a big brake job.  I am getting ready to leave for a 2-day trip tomorrow morning, and I was wondering how on earth I would pay for the car and the trip without having to use my credit card.  WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL, this morning along comes a nice gentleman who had been considering buying an extra refrigerator we had leftover from our move, and he pops $250 cash in my hand!  An hour later my mechanic calls about the car, and he says the brakes look great, he is only charging me $38 for cleaning everything up for me (which the brake system needed, anyway).  I have enough to cover the trip and the brakes, and I even gave my husband $40 to go toward a small auto repair the same mechanic is doing for us this afternoon.

And Thursday morning I am getting a bonus from work direct deposited into my checking account.

God is so good, good, good!  Praise Him!!!!!!!!!!  Big Smile
