    Automatic Bank Deposits

I signed up for the real estate company that manages Mom's rental house to do an automatic deposit of the rent check in her checking account. I did that before gas prices got this high.

I also got my trust fund check from Daddy's estate to be automatically deposited in my checking account.

Having those two checks deposited automatically not only saves me gas but it also means that if the weather is really bad the checks are in the two checking accounts without my having to deal with extreme heat, lots of rain, or ice.

Of course, it also means that I don't get my red lollipops twice a month. They give me red lollipops at my bank so that I have a lollipop to suck on if my blood sugar drops. I'm a Type 2 diabetic and my blood sugar sometimes drops really quickly. I guess that I'll have to buy some lollipops and keep them in the car.

    Re: Automatic Bank Deposits

I like direct deposits!  my child tax benefits and my paycheque are direct deposit. I pay most bills online and only have one automatic payment, my chrisco hamper payment once a month.

My banking, library online and email are great time savings with the little ones.

Lollipops are cheap $1 a bag maybe. great sales after halloween.  more then makes up in time and gas.

The lollipops from the bank started out as a joke. I'd drive Mom to the bank & I'd tell the teller that Mom had been very good & could she please have a lollipop. The bank has them for kids. There was my Mom in her 80's getting a lollipop from the bank.

All my friends see me with a lollipop in my mouth....especially at the beauty shop.

The other week I saw the kind of lollipops the bank gives away at Harris Teeter. I'll look for them when I go buy my hurricane stuff (bottled water, fruits, and fruits in Jello)on Monday.

    Re: Automatic Bank Deposits

Direct deposits of dh's pay, my employer won't participate in it.  grrr...

Anyway, with direct deposit and online bill pay, it is so easy to manage the finances.

Now, if I can just convince my employer to direct deposit...

    Matthew 6:25-34 Do Not Worry

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

    Re: Automatic Bank Deposits

I've had my check direct deposited for years - from the time it became an option; now it requires special dispensation to not have them direct deposited, because of the money the school district saves not having to mail them out (they were mail to your home before that, not handed out at work, for confidentiality and security issues) - since my mailbox doesn't lock, I much prefer to have direct deposit.  I also pay almost all of my bills on-line; several are on automatic payment, because it's easier, and also because some, like my student loans, give me a discount for paying by automatic payment (0.25% off my interest rate).
