Brandy, congratulations on paying off the note on your truck.  Sure feels good to pay something off doesn't it.

I can't believe it quite yet but we will be credit card debt free in just a few days when the check clears! Thanks to all for the support as we tried to find an extra $500 to $600 a month to pay this debt down while living smarter so as to not need credit cards. Our cash system is working!

Congratulations!!!!  Stay on track!!!  The way is paved for you to SAVE!!!  It's a whole new mindset and many overwhelming decisions.
Be sure to plan with your spouse how to proceed - it can get dicey when it 'feels' like there is money to spend.
I budgeted our 'getting out of debt' money into a 20% 10% split.  The 20% goes auto into a savings account.  The 10% became sinking funds for items on our wish list that we want to pay for in cash rather than financing.
    Good Luck

Debt is depressing this month.  And overwhelming.  Two credit card balances went down (as did mortgage and car payment) but one went up.  Am currently working on my Visa card-July's balance is 6016.28.

Now that June is over and all of the expenses we had are finally done, I feel like we can start working on this again.  Such a setback as this debt has now increased a lot!  I guess I need to be positive and just start again from where I am . . .  Nothing I can do about it now.

I did get a balance transfer offer that I am considering.  That balance is a higher rate-12% and this offer is 2.9 until the balance is paid off.  Thinking I might take advantage.  It'll cost about $150 to take the offer but I think it will still be a savings as this debt is going to take awhile to pay off at the rate we're going.

Thanks Amy!  We'll get there eventually . . . am really disappointed because we actually added to our debt last month-something we haven't done in AGES.  Feel like I erased the hard work that we've done up until then.  But, I am definitely not giving up and I am starting from where I am!

    Okay, we started July at

    Credit Card: $5000

    Car: $800

    Mortgage: 144000 (i think)

We are back to moving forward slowly with debt repay due to higher costs, but I KNOW we can do it!

Repayment in June will be : $400 Credit Card

                                             $341 car

$200 for mortgage repay (the total payment is much higher with taxes, and interest added in).

Maybe next month will be a breaththrough month!
