I budgeted $65 for water and the bill came in at $81, ugh. I haven't watered the lawn, just my plants and tomatoes but I have filled the kiddie pool 3-4 times. Ugh.

Ouch! We have six of us regularly using water, the occassional use of the jacuzzi and using the dishwater a couple times a week. Our bill includes water, sewerage and trash pick up and was $40 or so this month.

     Michelle,

I feel for ya, hon!! We lived in mid-michigan up til about a year ago. Had to move, taxes kept going up, cost of EVERYTHING kept going up. We moved to Ga. and our circumstances have vastly improved!! Cost of living is much lower here. I hope things work out for you and will keep you in my prayers!!!

The good, the bad, and the UGLY-

    My final July budget-

    Income- my pt work- $237.56

    dh's pt work- $690.37

    unemployment $1,053

    total- $1,980.93

plus expense check from dh's new work- $591.37, $200 from mil, $10 from dh to charge my phone.

    total deposits- $2,782.30

    Expenses-

    mortgage $1359

    home equity $373

    deposit on apartment $100

    phone $55

heat $112- negotiated, our actual bill is now about $450

    elect $79

    insurance for cars $115

cells- 4 uploads $40 this is dh's only phone now

    credit cards $525

    doctor $30

    dentist $50

    water $81

    trash $37

    internet $50

    business $40

    paper $30

$3,077 plus variables -$500 gas for cars, $85 church, $23 group gift for my parent's anniv-theatre tickets for the season, $8 recreation, visit to the Science Museum, tickets for low income $1 instead of $18.

    total $3,693

    total deficit   $910.70

We charged some (a lot) of the gas, and my mom and dad are going to lend us $500.

Month one of living in the red.  Next month dh's rent will be due, $700.  This includes utilities.  This will be an additional expense.  I paid $20 to the phone company today, due next month, to drop $9.50 in services.  This will be paid off in a little over two months.  I discontinued the Sunday paper, hope to get if from my sister when she is done, maybe.  The internet/cable bill will drop to $37, this month I paid the change in service fee.  Our expensive credit card says no payment due in August, I will send in $200 in August to cover finance charges, this will save $200. My mil has said she will send $200 to dh every month to help with his rent for the first 4 months.  Dh makes $530 a week for the next 4 months, he will get his first check Aug 13, it will go for his rent. I have zero in the bank.  We are very thankful to have food stamps.

August-October will be deficit months, as well.

I think you need to think of it as a nice bonus, if it happens, at this point.  You are a kind woman.
