Is 760 a good credit score?

I just recently received one of my credit reports and requested my credit score for a nominal fee. Is 760 a good credit score?

Yes, I think that's very good!  All the credit bureaus have different ranges but I think 760 on any of them is great.  Keep it up!

Your FICO, or credit score, is high.

Dave says: "Do you know what your credit score really is? It’s your “I Love Debt” score. The only way you get a big FICO score is to get in debt, stay in debt and make a lot of debt payments."

    Matthew 6:25-34 Do Not Worry

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Credit score is not the same as "I Love Debt"

It really isn't true that "The only way you get a big FICO score is to get in debt [and] stay in debt." My husband and I both have very good credit and we built it up solely by charging modest amounts on our credit cards and then paying them off in full every month. We've *never* rolled over a balance on our credit cards. Until we got our mortgage a year ago, neither of us had ever held any kind of loan, either (we could have had even better credit if we had, but we weren't about to borrow money we didn't need to just to beef up credit scores that were quite good already).

I just don't think it makes sense to brand credit card use as "debt" when the cards are paid each month in full and incur no interest charges. Aside from my mortgage, I've never spent money I didn't have. The cards are just for convenience, and the fact that they've helped me build a good credit rating and thereby get a good rate on my mortgage is an added bonus.
