Our dishwasher is ready for replacement and I spent several weeks researching which model I would 'wait' on for a good deal.
By reviews - the best deal I was probably going to come by was 15% off. 
My DH and I were driving by a local appliance store we never had stopped in before - they had an advertisement out for 'Tax Free' promotion... hmmm.
When I got in there, the salesperson showed me the model I was interested in, and I was prepared to negate the 'upgrade' spiel.
The next model up was a $200 difference for very little difference in function - though it looks nicer.
Turns out, he said they had overstock on that upgrade model, and I could buy it for just $50 more.  With the no-tax promotion, this seemed like a win-win deal to me!  So I ended up with almost a 20% discount on the upgraded model that was initially outside of the spending limit we set....
I can't wait to get it installed later this week...

That does sound like a win-win situation!  I think it always makes us feel good when we find a good deal like that.  Let us know how you like the new appliance once it is installed. 

We love it!  It is a KithenAid [KUDK03FTWH].
It is quiet, and the interior is stainless steel - I can tell the water either gets hotter or remains hotter - the dishes are cleaner.
The gadgety feature is like best is that the top rack acommodates stemware.
