I had a heart attack at the gas station today *How much do you pay*

Hubby and I wanted to take the kids for a hike today but we had to get gas in my minivan. He got out and filled er up at Costco the cheapest place you can get gas here in Seattle. When he got back into the car he told me it cost $73 to fill the tank. I almost died. Luckily we only buy gas for my van like twice a month. On the unfortunate side we fill hubby's truck every other week at the same cost too. I can't wait till we have only 1 car, shoes are so much cheaper.

How much do you pay to fill up your tank and how often do you have to do it.

My car is around $75 at $3.89 a gallon. That last me  about 3 weeks if no unexpected trips. DH has been using around $40 a week. Had has expense account for work but tries to keep the cost down. It is changing a lot of financial decision for us. Less driving for enjoyment ....limiting out of town trips. Babs

I really don't drive much and filled up back in the 2nd week of May... hoping to go til late August. I drive a Toyota Corolla ('98) that gets good mileage for the age of the car. I filled up when gas was $3.79/gal and did half a tank... was ~$26. I can go for over a week without driving... and try to avoid short trips (will walk) since I am close to things so I can walk.

Digginout: (Will be seeing your city in August... quick tour since my real destination is Spokane.) Smile

Ya, we have definatly changed our driving habits already. Canceled all summer fun activities outside of the local community, and had to cut my daughters horseback riding lessons way back as they are just too far away. Looks like my jogging stroller is going to pay for itself this summer with my 3 year old in tow. Our new summer hobby is going to be camping in the back yard.

WE have an RV at our churchs camp around 70 miles away. We had planned on going up most weekends but will be limiting the trip or share rides with some of our kids....take one car instead of two. It is free when we get there but it would be a lot of gas. Our vacation will be one week in Aug at the campmeeting week. We normally go to Cape Cod for a weekend but I cant see that being in the budget. Babs

Seattle is fun. Luckily you can walk to just about anywhere and the buses are free in the downtown area. If you are looking for fun stuff to do let me know, there are all kinds of hidden off the beaten path kinds of things to do around here.

My husband pays well over $4 a gallon and tanks up at least twice a week.

Filled our tank on Friday the 30th at Sams. It was the cheapest gas at $3.90(,09 cheaper) for around $46.02 for 11.8 gallons. I will end up putting more in before next payday as we only have  one car.

I work from home, so I fill up maybe twice a month.  The last time was May 22 and it cost $47 to fill up my 2000 Mazda 626 with regular gas.
