    have a great weekend. pam

Pam- we are doing about the same- one dd is spending the day with Girl Scouts in a pixie valley program, the rest will relax, play Wii,  and clean house.  One dd has a end of the year Bible Study and hot tub party at pastor's house on Sunday, ds ushers at church and it is the last Sunday School for the year. I pick up my Fare Share package, two bags of produce, rie and beans for $10.  We will need a few things at the grocery, mostly milk.

Other than that, baking for a friend's daughter's bake sale for a mission trip.  Think I'll buy cinnamon chips and make my cinnamon scones, a few other things.

I think we will Redbox a few movies, $1 each and I have a few codes to try also.

    Have a good weekend!

Off to the Base wide Yearly Yard Sale!   Fun, fun, fun!  hehe  Did all my cleaning yesterday, will do laundry later today.  My hairdresser called and asked if I could come in today as opposed to next week, we will try to fit her in.  I need to get this done for our trip.  : )

Tonight is date night so dinner is up in the air, maybe we can do lunch instead and save a bit on the budget.  Not much else going on here today.

Daste nite here too.  Don't know what we'll do yet.  Not much elso going out today.  I need to get a small round brush for my new hairdo. And we need a small bag of dogfood for the backyard dog.

DH just planted my Mother's Day hydrangea--after I finally made him leave my hair alone!

Not a stretching weekend here but its is a long weekend so I didn't think it was going to be.  Was payday. made the credit card payments, pay for babysitting. reg. bills.  The start of the Hyack festival here so there is a carnival with an antique show, arts and crafts, free crafts for the kids in Queens Park. The petting zoo opens there this weekend too.  There is the Cloverdale Rodeo too with carnival etc but we aren't going to that.

Hot today.  borrowed the weed whacker from my mom so will use it this morning before dh mows the lawn.  He has to go to home depot for wood posts and cement to start on putting up the free playhouse/swing set we got.  Also need to clean up the basement, get rid of the stuff for charity, organize for the kids swap meet. normally I go to do it but have to spend my energy cleaning up the kids mess !

Sunday plans to go to the new Narnia movie. have my airmiles coupon for dh and me so just money for the homestay student then dinner at the inlaws. grandma will babysit the kids.

Monday is the carnival.  don't plan on eating out this weekend so all meals should be at home. Have to go to the store for the basics, milk, bread etc.

It will be a no spend day-finally. I am not leaving home. It is suppose to rain. We need it.

Just going to work on the budget and do some adjusting to the grocery plans. I am thinking that I may start shopping once a month and then fill in with small local trips for milk and fresh produce about every 10 days or so. I shop at the nearest commissary, but that is approximately 35 miles away. I will have to give this more thought. I think it will work for the summer anyway.

For breakfast I made Banana Cream Scones (had bananas and heavy cream that needed using), and for lunch we had leftover bean and pasta soup, stromboli, and/or whole wheat Italian bread. (Used broth saved from meals cooked earlier in the week in the soup.)

Dinner is lasagna (already assembled earlier in the week), salad (have 1/2 a tomato and cucumber that needs using), and garlic bread (the rest of the Italian bread that also needs using.) Had to throw out a zucchini, and a yellow squash that wound up in the fruit bin under a bag of apples, so that was a waste.

I also need to work on DD's lesson plans for the upcoming week.

I am staying home and spending nothing. DW, on the other hand, is out getting her hair done, then we're going to get a graduation gift for my niece who graduated today. There's a family party tomorrow. She's had a hard time of it being a single mom for a long time, she just got married two years ago to a great guy.

Momof2 - I also shop at the commissary which is about 30 min. from my house.  I usually go about every 3-4 weeks, depending on how fast we go through everything.  I end up freezing a lot of bread, cheese and meat.  I switched to soymilk which has a much longer expiration date and buy three containers per trip for DH's cereal every morning.  I find that it saves me time to do it this way because I only organize the coupons once a month, put groceries away once a month, etc.  I save a lot of money as well.  I will do small trips in between the commissary trips, usually to pick up some fresh produce and check out loss leaders.  I should mention that it is just me, DH, the cat and the dog, so this method might not work as well for someone with a large family.

    Good luck,

    Alison in Pittsburgh
