Thanks for posting this! I really enjoyed reading that blog post. I would love to go spend a few days with a lady like that!

I could only hope to have a quater of that "frugal knowledge" in my life time! I wish that I could meet some of these people in person and "friend" them. I just started my quest for frugality and simple living about one year ago. And though I feel like I've come a long way (saving on groceries, cooking more from scratch, cut my electricity bill down, etc.) I know that I have such a long way to go!!!!!

As far as I know, Michigan is the only state that pays $0.10 per can and only on the ones so marked on the lid, so think this lady may well be in MI.   But $150.00 for 6 months supplies for 7 people (5 kids) in a single wide trailer?  What on earth does this woman buy and where does she store it?  Great goodness, this would be a wonderful teacher!

 I make my grape juice the same way. Learned it in the 70's.  It is really good. I do raspberry juice too. Babs

Babs, my sister taught me the same way to make grape juice.  Sometimes we use half white and half dark grapes, preferably seedless. 

How do you make raspberry juice?
