    Awesome Sewing Blog

This is the blog of the lady where the original pattern came from for the lunchbox bag that was so adorable: http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/

Her projects are absolutely gorgeous! Trendy wallquilts and handbags that look like they were bought for $500+ dollars. I'm so inspired now to set-up my sewing machine and really learn how to sew!  This project blew me away: http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2007/10/happy-birthday-.html

I would have loved to receive something like that when I was a little girl.  Heck, I'd still love to receive that! I love to sketch in colored pencil and to journal. I just haven't done either in a long time Wink

Start with something simple to learn how to sew first. You don't want to get frustrated in the beginning and give up right away. If you can find a used sewing book or two, like on e-bay, you won't have invested alot, but will get some excellent instruction on how to sew. Vogue is one of the better ones, Simplicity is a fairly simple and basic book,  McCall's and Singer, all have put out sewing instruction books in past years. Prices on sewing patterns can shock you, however, stores like JoAnn's always have periodic sales in which the patterns are $1.99. You can look on Simplicity's or McCall's or Buttericks web site to see what patterns are available and are interesting then buy them on sale at Joann's.

Do a google search by typing in sewing patterns and you'll come up with all kinds of information and ideas. Good Luck and let us know what you're doing. Edey.
