    Re: Walgreens.....

I think that is my problem...Walgreens is a bit out of the way for me.  Also, I think it would be more lucrative if We used more of the cleaning and H&B products.  With just the 2 of us we just don't use a whole lot.  I am going to try it for a month or two and see how it works out though.  I am hoping to get our grocery and supply bill CONSISTANTLY below 200.00, we usually hover between 200.00 and 250.000.  That extra 50.00 would pay our gas bill....and take me out to Mcds for lunch.

Spent $34.15 at Walgreen's yesterday and got back $20 in register rewards. I bought

    • 2 deodorants (1 for me, 1 for dear bf)
    • 3 boxes cascade
    • 2 boxes magic erasers (the only cleaning product I'm addicted too!)
    • 2 packages of feminine products
    • 2 5 lb. bags domino sugar ($1.99/ea with Walgreen's coupon)
    • 2 rolls of Walgreen's aluminum foil (2/$1 w/Walgreen's coupon)

Stopped at Walgreen's one more time, bought two toothpaste and seven dish soap, had the $3 coupon from the rebate book and a 25 cent coupon for Cascade, so the bill was $20.75, got $20 in register rewards.  Had dh buy the lightbulbs that will be free.

Gave my parents a dish soap, they babysat for us tonight.

    Total seventy five cents.

Do they not have products with RR every week, or did I just miss them in the ad?

I didn't see any RR in this week's ad for our area either.  I think its generally every other week?

Today bought two decaf folders, and the buy one get one for 1 penny Ben and Jerry's, had a $1 coupon off two Ben and jerry's, used a $10 register reward.  Spent $3.48, saved $11.48 in savings, and the $10 off for a total saving of $22.48 on my out of pocket purchase of $3.48.

I have coffee for a few months and good ice cream for a treat.

I think those are the only good sales, besides the soap, and last week I bought the $1 Ivory multipack with a 25 cent coupon, the same price for nicer soap.

I think next week there will be some better prices to use the rest of the rr on.

    Re: Walgreens.....

I found a walgreens that is closer, than the one I tried before, but I'm not sure I am actually getting good deals even with the register rewards, I'll have to see what they have to offer next week.

    Re: Walgreens.....

    Ariana,

For the week 5/11-17 I find the Kellogg's Cereals 4/$10 get $2 in RR, Pantene buy 2/$8 get $2 RR, All buy 2 @4.99 get $3 RR, Revlon on p 10 shows RR, and the Gillette shampoo/body wash is a new item on p 11, buy for $3.49 get RR for next one free.  There was $1 off cpn in last Sunday's paper on Pert, and the May EasySaver has a rebate of $2.50, sale price $3.49, so if you do the cpn & rebate, you've made a penny on the purchase.  If you don't personally use that brand, it's a free item that could be donated.  I got 5 papers last week (some with RR, lol), so got some things for my friend who is out of work, getting her started on the rebates.  Also one of the managers pointed out to me as I was getting 2 gallons of milk that the half gallons were cheaper this week at only $1.49 per half.  I missed the Ben & Jerry cpn but bought the ice cream anyway!  If I find it, I might have to get more.  Wink

I read Jane4girls blog archives all the way back to January of this year.  It seems she is able to roll her RR into gift cards.  Has anyone here done that?  While the RR have expiration dates, I would think that the gc might not?

BTW, as I posted on the "stash" thread, with last week's ad, I bought lots of products and wound up with over $160.00 in RR but used many of them in purchasing the items which are free after rebate, or have rebates on them, such as the buy $10 in Con-Agra foods, get a $5 rebate, buy $20 in participating products, get a $10 gc/$12 if you're an AARP member.  I am sure I have seen the Con-Agra rebate deal before in the monthly EasySaver books.  I bought the tomato sauce because sometimes you need to add just one of those little cans to something, pork & beans (who doesn't use for summer picnics?), and some of the canned fruit.

Walgreens is good as it is convenient for me, directly between home and work.  Some folks might be closer to CVS where that program is ECB, I think?

BTW, Hot Coupon World has "preview" scans of next weeks ads for different stores.
