    Re: Walgreens.....

I have hit Walgreens hard this week- with the great rebate- went once, got three deoderants, 3 toothpaste, dish soap, some makeup for the girls with coupons, got the $20 back.  Also got two boxes of chocolates, regular $6, on sale for $4 with $2 coupons and a big box of Russel Stover candy on sale for $3.99, $2 coupon, $2.  $17 out of pocket, had several coupons.  Went back and got 2 big head and shoulders, had a $3 coupon off two also, got dish soap and body wash, Febreeze and had a buy the big bottle get a smaller bottle free, used a gift card with rebate money, spent $26, got $20 rebate.  $6 out of pocket for that purchase, used one of the coupons for a rebate item.  I am thinking of doing it one more time, have a few Cascade coupons, at 2/$5 I could get 9 for close to $20 with the coupons and get the $20 back.  Used an online coupon for a fgree 5 x8 photo today, got one of my baby as we haven't gotten a professional phot except when she was first born.

Very little money out, I have bags of stuff we use- and am stocked in several areas.  I might use the register rewards, I have a rebate for buy three huggies get $5 back in the mail, and I have three coupons, could get my huggies for 1/2 price.

Free rebate items this month include lightbulbs, a toothbrush, maxipads, a dental rinse for kids.

    I love Walgreens.

    Re: Walgreens.....

I did Walgreens last night. I got 4 Casacde, 2 magic erasers, 2 crest toothppaste,, 3 12 pack of pepsi, 2 dawn dish det, 1 can peaches, 1 pack of razors, ...total cost before sale was $57. After coupons and store reductions for sale, I paid $35.  I got $22 in register rewards to use for more stuff!

I will go back tonight and use the register rewards to get more of the things on sale for free. They were out of sugar so hope it will be in today. I will post tomorrow how I do tonight.

These were good buys for my family. I carefully add this up at home to know what I am saving. Babs

    Re: Walgreens.....

I went this morning and bought

    • 3 of DH's body wash
    • 3 deoderant (2 for me, 1 for DH)
    • 1 bottle liquid fabric softener
    • 2 packages magic erasers

I had been planning on buying Cascade and toothpaste, but they were out of both items, so I might try again tommorrow or Saturday.

I spent 30.82, and recieved 20 in RR.  I still need to decide if this is quite worth the drive to the city south of us.  I might have to find the one North of us, because I am up in that area more frequently.

Keep in mind you can't use the rr right away for more Proctor and Gamble products- I used another 2 today on a rebate item, TP, and a few summer items-bubbes, whiffle balls.  Also a new "cell phone" for my baby.

Her jealous big sister took her birthday one- it is gone.

Dear Tracy LateNightLeader, Adorable!  What a cutie-pie!

Now that you've mentioned Proctor & Gamble, I know what you guys are talking about.  I read that page in teh rebates booklet, too.  I just have plenty of toiletries in the hosue, so don't want any more.  (The only thing I'm low on is Oxy-Clean generic oxygen bleach.  And I don't think that P&G makes that?)

I don't think P and G makes that- the rebate was in the  weekly ad.  Where do you usually buy household goods?

    I think she's cute, too.

At Walgreen's!  That's where I buy all household goods, but onlly during the weeks when they go on sale.  Generic Oxy-Clean only goes on sale about every 6 monnths; there are different rotations for different items.  "Big Roll" TP, which is exactly lilke Scott 1000's, goes on sale every 3rd month, for example.

    Re: Walgreens.....

Okay, after seeing the Jane4girls blog I got inspired and, as I posted elsewhere, had so many coupons laying around me that I lost my scissors until this morning.  So tonight I went to my friend Sandy's house and we double-teamed the coupon inserts we both had and then slowly put together ones to get RR.  I then stopped at my local 24 hr Walgreens and started shopping for the laundry and cleaning items.  I just took in some of my coupons, and did one page first, spent $34.28 oop but between their advertised savings and coupon savings, totalled $22.75 savings and got $20.00 of RR.  Put those items in the car, since my back was hurting, then went back in.  This time I went for deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, spent another $32.57, but advertised savings and coupon savings totalled $18.90 and I got another $10 in RR -- I thought I had 9 items and only had 8.  (Ratz!  I still have some coupons, too, so could have bought something else.  I will have to be more careful in future on my counts.)  But not bad for getting my feet wet as a first-timer?  $66.85 oop with savings totalling $41.85 and I still have $30.00 in RR to spend by 5/22.  The nice girl at the checkout did tell me that you couldn't use RR right away if you were buying things and expected to get more RR.  I just realized I still have the P&G $3 cpn matched with other P&G manufacturer coupons plus whatever is in the May book, so I might possibly have some more rewards coming if I buy all those items.  But I still have the food and other things that I can stop back tmw.  Oh, and I wanted to get the free after rebate items, too.

It's a bit confusing, but I think I'm getting it.  I was using three sale ads, one open to the double page of items eligible for RR and another open to the other page of items eligible for RR.  The third was for cutting.  <G>  But according to what I am looking at, I spent $66.85 for $108.70 of items, and still have $30.00 to spend.  That's an initial 33% savings.  If I understand this system correctly, the percentage can increase?

Somehow I missed getting Sunday's paper, so I am upset with myself, as that should have had the new P&G insert?

So thanks for walking us newbies through this.

Check the Procter n Gambles website to give the date for the next coupons insert from them. You can also find which newspaper carrys it in your area. Babs

    Re: Walgreens.....

An added note. Last night, my DM needed some over the counter meds. It was

$9.98. I got a gallon of milk that I needed . So I paid for her med with my $10 register reward and kept her cash. So ten dollars back in my pocket. Still have $12 in RR, will wait till tomorrow and check out the SAt Walgreen insert to see what is on sale next week before shopping again. If nothing good, will go back tomorrow. I am bless3ed that my Walgreens is maybe 1 mile from my home. Babs
