I own an Australian Reader's Digest book on the same subject.  It's fantastic!  It's called:

HOME MADE BEST MADE:   HUNDREDS OF WAYS TO MAKE ALL KINDS OF USEFUL THINGS (1998).

If the US version is anywher e as good as the Australian one is, it will be a great book indeed!  Yours in Him, Deb

That sounds like a book that would be great to have around the house. Hopefully someone can post a "review" for us....

I reserved a copy at the library; there are 6 copies in our library system and they're all checked out - but I'm next in line, so it shouldn't be more than a few weeks.

I am ashamed to admit this but I have this book but I can't give you a review because the only thing I've do with it is glance through it and stick it on the shelf!  I ordered it earlier this year, but when it came in I was very ill and I really wasn't able to read it.  So, I put it on the shelf and FORGOT I even had it! I pulled it out tonight and I will take a look at it over the next couple of days and let you know what I think.

Dear Shellia, I am so sorry to hear hat yuo  were that ill!  Forumites would have shared with you our sympathy; everyone should try to post when tehy need help.  I know thast I was very much helped this week by you & so many others.

I also have the Home Made, Best Made book and was going to recommend it.

Is a great book in my opinion, I got it used on Amazon a while back.

I think that I'm getting it from The Good Cook. It'll be a while before I get it (they are slow sending out orders). I'll be happy to let you know how it is once I get it.
