Our bill during the summer is usually $200 or more!!!!

Mobile homes are hard on the electricity bill. They are hard to keep cool in our summers and if they are drafty then they are problem in the winter as well.

     Ju-ju mommy-

Was wondering how your May bill was?  We are having a cool spring up here, maybe you are too?  Was wondering if your little baby is sensitive to heat?  I know the years after I have a baby, I use more heat/a/c to keep the baby comfortable.

My electric bill was low in April, also, at $93.  Usually it is over $100, I'm happy whenever it drops down.

May was fine... but this month (June) is going to be ridculous. It's always our worst summer month. And it's been especially hot because we're in some sort of drought. All my plants are dying and I've given up on my veggie garden (at least for now; I'll plant again in the fall). So, it'll be a high bill this month. But that's ok.

And yes, both my kids are very sensitive to the heat. I'm very cold natured, so I have to try hard to keep in mind that they don't need to be dressed as much as I am. When at the house, I typically keep the baby in a onsie or just a diaper (naked babies are so cute LOL).

Going through this thread again.... I saw Deb's suggestion about bamboo. I never thought of that! That is a great idea... it grows fast and depending on the variety it gets super tall. My grandparents have some in their back yard that's very tall and shady. I wonder how you transplant that? Hmmm... I might give it a try. We'll be here about 2 more years so it'd be worth the effort.

    Have a blessed day,

    Julie

If it's an invasive type of bamboo, you'll just have to dig some up and bury it in your yard. Even a little bit of root will make more shoots.

Not all bamboo is like that though. Ask your grandparents if theirs grows like crazy. If it does, then it's invasive! LOL

I agree! My little guy is just about always in a onesie or a diaper too! (My little redneck baby! Big Smile)
