    Re: May Food Stamps

Dear Luvd_Lioness, That is something that I'm rarely brave enough to do, to return an item to the store....  Good for you!

I went to Safeway today.  My starting Food Stamps balance was $71.49.  I bought 9 cans of Green Giant corn @ 50cents (I had already stocked up, unfortunately at a higher price, on Del Monte.).  I bought B1G1 regular instant generic oatmeal.  I bought 2 tins of sardines -- I was delighted to find a Kosher brand at the low price of $1.79.  I bought a quart of strawberry yoghurt (same price as plain).  I bought 2 lbs of frozen peas, & 4 bags of Morningstar Farms crumbles (like hamburger meat).  The MF were on sale @ $3, & they acceptred my 75cents coupons on EACH -- very unusal in my experience.

I spent $26.05.  My remaining balance is $45.44, until 6/1/08.

Dear Luvd_Lioness, I am unable to follow Pat's directions for how to set up a poll.  I'd like to set up a poll on the issue, "Food Stamps use is an honorable way to take care of your family in times of economic hardship."  Would you be willing to do it for me?  I'd expect that it would be best as a new thread in Frugal Food.  TIA!!!  Yours in Him, Deb

Dear All, I bought a 6-pack of diet Pepsi for $1.39 at Walgreens today.  (It carries CRV of 30cents.)  I spent $1.69. and have $43.75 left in Food Stamps until 6/1.  Since that is just 3 days from now, I should have a fair amount of FS to carry over to June.  Yours in Him, Deb

Are you saying that soft drinks, or "pop," as you call it, are allowed on food stamps?

Dear Yanceyhouse, Yes, I do not buy cookies or chips or ice cream or cake, I do occasionally buy soda; Food Stamps covers these things, though.  Yours in Him, Deb
