Dear All, At Walgreens this week, Lindsay whole pitted black olives are on for $0.99, so I bought a can. (Pieces would be cheaper, but I haven't seen them with a Kosher symbol, & Walgreens doesn't sell tehm.) I had $101.16 left on my Food Stamps debit card.
I decided that all I really need to get at Cala/Ralphs/Kroger is yellow onions, which are on a good sale (3 lbs/$1). So I went to Whole Foods instead -- the products are superior, & I still could use some coupons (although not doubled). Best of all, WF will cut up produce to teh exact size that you want. I got them to cut a small cAbbage in half for me, & they sold ready-cut watermelon.
I bought Kashi cereal, 3 servings of strawberry granola cereal on sale -- just $1.05, cottage cheese, vegan mozzarella cheese [no rennet or gelatin from animal sources -- I can't find any Parmesan or mozzarella with Kosher certification, but the problem is just the rennet or gelatin -- it can't come from animal sources, so I figure that the vegan form is OK -- I bought Parmesan vegan a couple of months ago.], Boca Italian sausage, cabbage, 3 Mineola tangelos, an ear of corn (50cents, but as nearly right off the farm as possible), a lemon (teh price had gone up 10cents in 3 months, but it is a VERY large lemon!), & 80 bags of generic green tea for $3.99. I spent $23.84, & I have $77.32 left.
