Dear Luvd_Lioness, Please see my post to you in General.

Dear All, I stopped at an ethnic grocery store -- it's REALLY hard to find one that takes Food Stamps -- & got 3 small sweet potatoes & a head of romaine lettuce.  I paid $1.88, and have $122.53 left in FS.

Dear All, I stopped by Whole FOods today to pick up the superior brand of Vita herring -- same price, same manufacturer, but the brand name is "Elf."  Both types cost $4.99.  (Cala/Ralphs/Kroger only carries the inferior brand.)  I now have left in Food Stamps $117.59.  Yours in Him, Deb

Right now sitting on $1.46 of food stamps until Monday. Will be going out shopping on Monday (errand day) and NOT buying much since I want to really take it easy on my card to save up until I get to the May meat sale. Will be posting on Monday and see how little I spend. (Thinking <$30).

I went to Whole Foods this AM & spent $28.62, leaving me with $$76.99 in my account.

I bought 2 alrge organic yams, Go Lean crucnch cereal, salsa (the one convenience food that I buy.  When I can get cheap tomatoes in the summer, I'm going to can my own salsa ....), 2-32 oz cans of organic diced tomatoes (same price as for whole), capers, 4-3/4lbs of organic rye flour -- that was all they had left in the bin; I plan to try again teh next time taht I am there (it was .99/lb), 2lb organic chickpeas, 1-3/4 lb organic yellow popcorn (I love it as a snack; I eat the whole bowl's worth all at once -- made with 1/3 c raw popcorn; no butter or oil added after popping; 1-1/2 T oil in the pot), & 2 lb packages of frozen yellow corn @ $1.69 (compare $3.29 if not on sale at Cala/Ralphs/Kroger).  I think taht is mighty good for $29!
