    Hi Pat,

I finally made it over here to The Stretcher Community. Between being busy at work, trying to get my 8th grader's school year finished, and then being slowed down by the heat outside, my energy level has gone kaput! Wilted Flower Maybe someone can give me some frugal ideas on how to increase my energy levels ! Yes

I appreciate the support Right Hug everyone has given to my blog: http://frugalsinglemom.blogspot.com

Now I just need to get inspired Idea by you guys and grab some of your energy.

    Take care,

    Terre Parker Geeked

Hi Terre! It's great to see you here. I know what you mean by being slowed down by heat. We haven't had any serious heat here lately, but I'm not looking forward to it. Probably the most frugal way to deal with the energy loss is to stay cool! Someone should start a thread about frugal ways to stay cool, huh? Big Smile

I can sympathise about the lack of energy. I am anemic so at times I struggle with having the energy to do what I need. All I can day on that is make the most of the times when you are feeling energetic and motivated and plan for times you are not. Having some precooked foods that are easy to heat make for quick meals that don't come with the cost of take out or convenience foods.

I worked in a pottery for 5 years.  Several tricks I learned and used to cool down.

    1.  Fans to circulate the air.

    2.  Cold kerchief tied around neck.  Once it warms, soak in cold water, wring out and replace.  Also can put in freezer but be careful of causing damage to skin.  Don't let it freeze solid just cool for 15 - 20 min.

    3.  Mist yourself in front of the fan.

    4.  Wet your hair down.  Keeping your head cool is half the solution!

    5.  can also cool your environment with dark curtians and keeping the windows closed until around 2pm.  If I do this, my living room stays comfortable longer than open windows.   Add the fan to the mix and it may stay comfortable longer.

    6.  Keep unneccessary lights and appliances off as they add heat.

    Hope this helps.

What a great list of "cool" tricks, gracie42!  If I'm very uncomfortable I wet my hair.  I like the wet towel around the neck too, and fans of course.

Terre- read in your blog about CVS- we have one about 10 miles away, I always do the rebate at Walgreens every month, would it be worth driving to get to CVS?  I've not seen their rebate or points catalog, how does it work? Welcome to the forum!
