    Re: Frugal Gardening

Sorry that you lost your seedlings re-tired.  It's frustrating when that happens.  I lost a bunch of zinnia seedlings last year in May when a cold spell hit and I forgot to bring them in.  This year I'm being more careful.  But I have planted a few things outside.  So far I've planted onion sets in a veggie bed, three romaine lettuce seedlings and three Red Pontiac seed potatoes.  The lettuce is covered using milk jugs.  I have a row cover over my onions.

I've been taking seedlings out on nicer days, but the wind sometimes beats them up.  I should get my peas out soon, but today it's cold and stray snowflakes are flying.  Tonight temps may be as low as 25.  ARG!!
