    Rick Rack flowers

Simple and pretty decorations can be made by handsewing rick rack into different shapes. Twist 2 equal lengths together, roll up from one end, stitch it closed, then run some stitches thru the bottom to hold in place. What do you have? a pretty rose. Decorate a  fabric grocery shopping bag, attach to the back of a gardening glove, or put on a hat. Leaves can be made from one point with the ends overlapped and stitched. Stems are 2 lengths twisted together and the ends tucked under and stitched down.

Sometimes you can find bags of trims in thrift stores that someone donated. Next time you seen something like this remember rick rack flowers. E

I would never have thought of that! I've passed over bags of trim in thrift stores because I didn't know what to do with it. I'll take a closer look now, thanks!

Great idea!! Especially since I have a toddler girl. I could use this idea to dress up some simple blouses I've sewn, especially if I sewed several along the bottom and used green rick rack for the stems and leaves. Cute!!
