    Tastiest Burger

How do you like to make your burgers? What do you like to put on the burgers?

    Re: Tastiest Burger

Hi Brandy, I love a good fresh made veggie burger. I also do turkey and seafood burgers and the occassional beef burger. Toppings really depend on the theme of the meal and can range from very simple to very elaborate! I love whole grain and seeded buns... cheese - always cheese with my burgers - of choice, sometimes avocado or guacamole, sliced red onion/sliced tomatoes and sprouts or leafy greens are nice additions to basic cheese burgers (meat or veggie). If I am feeling like a splurge then bacon. I really like to do CA style seasoned turkey burgers with pepper jack, avocado, thin sliced red onion/tomatoe and a crunchy leafy green. Sometimes I like to do bunless burgers and use large lettuce leaves as the bun. Butter leaf is really yummy for that. Portabello burgers are also a big favorite, especially with basil and tomato and a nice cheese like provolone, fontina or gouda.

    What about you?

I like to put a little steak seasoning and some Worchestshire sauce or A-1 in my ground beef.  Sometimes I chop up some onions in it also.  I like mine with Miracle Whip and sweet relish, sliced onions, tomatoes leaf lettuce on a warmed bun.  DH differs only in liking his with dill pickles.  Sometimes I will use 1000 Island dressing.

Retired, I LOVE seasoning my burgers with montreal steak seasoning or some kind of steak rub I can make myself from my spice collection. There is something about steak seasoning that really bumps burgers up!

Like BB, it depends on the theme and the meat used. Often, we have basic grilled burgers with Montreal or Misty's (local business) seasoning. Red onion, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and condiments. DH butters and grills the buns to make them crispy and so good!

This winter, we made Pioneer Woman's sliders with sauted mushrooms and onions, Worchestershire sauce in the meat, swiss cheese and her spicy fry sauce (mayo, cayenne pepper). Very, very good but rich!

I also like turkey burgers topped with guacamole or avacado, red onion, pepper jack cheese/cheddar cheese and lettuce. I season the turkey with a mixture of cumin/chili powder.

     Yum! Fun post!

This recipe looks good. I think I'd leave the olive oil out.

Oh and our burgers are broiled in the oven.  I prefer grilled but DH cannot stand anything cooked on the grill, nor does he like anything barbequed, so I miss out on all that.

Tastiest burger ever! DH grills a mean burger. I season the burger with ground black pepper and garlic. I like to mix some ketchup and mustard on my plate and dip my burger in that as I eat the burger. Yum!
