    Where is that Budget Menu?

I recall someone (Rolo, maybe) had shared a site that gave a frugal menu. Reading Pat's review of The Hillbilly Housewife reminded me of it. I can't seem to find the site or the thread where the site was posted. Does anyone have a link to frugal menus or menu ideas?

Ask your local University Extension Service (US Dept of Agriculture in Co-op with your local Land Grant/State University) for a copy of Recipes and Tips for Healthy, Thrifty Meals.  If they won't give it to you for free, try your Congressional Representative.  There is also Preparing Nutritious Meals at Minimal Cost from the same source.  Good luck!  PS I Googled this to no avail; there apparently are no websites that give these pamphlets now.

Hillbilly Housewife's 40 dollar menu is here

    http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/40dollarmenu.htm

one change I would make to it is that she has tea with every meal. The tannins in tea inhibit iron absorption, so I would have tea between meals instead of with it. To improve iron uptake from vegetarian sources, try and include a small serve of juice for adults as well as kids.

she includes a link to the same basic menu with links at

I have the Hillbilly Housewife one. Someone posted another site link with a frugal menu on it and I can't find it. I thought I saved it after reading the post and checking the site out.     Crying

Do you know where the menu is on there? I am not sure if that's the one but more ideas can't hurt.
