    Tax Check In

How are you all doing with figuring and filing your taxes?

Our tax season is march/april. Taxes have to be in by the end of april.  We don't have all the paperwork yet plus I have to dig out all the bills for hydro etc because they are partly written off because of homestay money.

Our taxes have to be filed by April 15 but W2s, 1099s and other employment have to be sent by the last day in January.

Here the deadline is the end of Feb. But some receipts are in March like RRSPS because jan/feb contributions count towards last year taxes.

Good for you Tracy! Some extra funds should help you to make it a bit farther.

Mine is at the tax accountant's, should be done tomorrow or Tuesday. I don't think I'll owe anything beyond my estimated payments this time. I always feel like celebrating when it's actually in the mail each year.

    Pat,

It's a weight off of you when they are done so it does feel relieving to be done with taxes.

    Re: Tax Check In

I discovered that we can file without the 1099s if we have all our figures needed so I went ahead and finished our taxes up. We are filed and now I know why we felt so broke!

The difference between what my husband made and his expenses for his job was $345 and it wasn't in our favor.  We began moving ahead in January but we are still catching up on things so we don't really feel ahead yet but it should be getting better soon.
