It is 39 degrees here today and we are beginning our next faze of saving water, need to use only 35 gallons a day per the Governor.

So I will be puttering around the house and only take a spitz bath, Brian will help me wash my hair this weekend.  Need to glean out the freezer and get those green tomatoes all used up.   Thinking some oatmeal bars, chutney and making a casserole or two.  Also need to make a couple of jello parfaits to use up the sugar free jello in the fridge.  : )

Off to start my day!  ; )

Dear Brianschef, I don't know how you are cooking despite your pain & nausea....  I am praying for you.

Dear All, Today I am going to look through my huge pile of sample magazines (start to, anyhow), & try to find an article idea to pitch/query the magazine about.  I have about 10 ideas without magazine pins, too, so I have to match those up with magazines.  Eventually, some of hese will result in paid assignments (generrally, in the magazines with lesser circulations that I am this point querying to, the pay doesn't come until he artile is published, instead of when it is approved for publicaztion ....).

Still down with flu symptoms. Fever is not broken yet. Letting it do it naturally vs. popping Tylenol. Missing classes this week but am not going to stand out at the bus stop when it's below 0, or try driving when I'm not totally coherent. Was sad a little yesterday the fact that I was close to going up to see my friend and here baby this weekend... but not going to visit now that I'm sick (not going to risk getting a preemie sick).

Trying to push the fluids today. Washing linens (hot water/hot dryer) to see if that will help. Just not pushing myself and resting a lot. Will be tapping into my supply of chicken soup (doc said so yesterday).

Our washer bit the dust so yesterday Iwas comparison shopping.  I found some on the 'net I wanted to look at, but naturally couldn't find them here.  I in'ed and outed the car too much and am paying the price today so it looks like I'll be staying in.  It's too cold for my ankle, knee, shoulder, fingers out there anyway.

Sandwiches for first meal here.  Then DH will do his normal routine and I'll scrape up something for my secon meal.  I think I'll cook the lemon garlic turkey breast from the SHARE basket for supper along with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.  Maybe a pudding for dessert.

My DD was sick these past few days (stomach virus) so kept her home from school for at least half a day.  DH brought other DD into school so I didn't have to drive.  Had leftover fried potatoes for breakfast and hung the laundry inside to dry.  In a cold snap (below zero).  Will take a walk outside today instead of using treadmill as I see someone dumped a bunch of aluminum cans on the road.  Looking for some contract work on line.  Church tonite so will eat there as they are having a speaker and provide the meal.  Made a pot of homemade chicken noodle soup on Sunday so will have that for lunch.  Other than that, just a quiet day spent catching up (no t.v.!).

    Re: 1/23 Daily Dollar Stretcher

We're all out of the house Monday through Friday, so we invested in a programmable thermostat.  It keeps the house at a comfy 59 while we're not there.  Then about an hour befoe we come home it kicks it up to 65.  Since it's been so cold we've been kicking it up to 67.  At night, it lowers the temp to 63, due to the baby, we can't get it much colder or she gets sick.

However, I've been utilizing the oven during dinner and that warms the kitchen, dining room and living room.  So we haven't had to kick it up to 67.  When the kids are in bed, I go downstairs and walk on the treadmill.  I usually walk just 15 minutes several times a day.  It helps to boost my metabolism and warms me.

Tonight the kids will study for three tests, so we will have a stay at home night.

We will also eat at home.  I'm making crepes with peaches and bacon and tomato juice.  One of Dr. Seuss's books is "Wacky Wednesday", so I try to make breakfast for dinner every Wednesday.  My kids love it and get upset if I forget.
