    babbyb:
We believe that our New Testament is a fulfillment of the Old Testament.  Learning about the Old Testament is opening up the New Testament more and more for me.

Amen.  I have a bible that has cross references that shows where something is in the Old when it was mentioned in the New.  I am amazed at how often Paul, Peter and Jesus quoted scripture that is now considered Old Testament.

Thanks so much, Babbyb & Sue for YOUR cross-cultural good points,  I am leaning from you, too.

Has a new thread started for the Jewish holidays?

I know that my kids are now asking, "What's Chanukah?"  I'd like to give them a decent explanation without anything sounding too lofty.  (If it gets complicated, the kids' brains turn off.)  Big Smile

Hanukah starts on Tues evening, 12/4, & runs for 8 days.  The Sabbeth is starting soon, so I cannot answer you now, but, rest assured, I will post on Sunday a detailed account of the holiday -- the reasons for the season!

Dear Babbyb, Did you read the Chanukah post on teh HomeSchooling forum?  Yours in Him, Deb

Our next holiday is the New Year of the Trees, on 1/22.  I'll be posting ont his forum (Kosher living) an explanation including how to run a TuB'Shvat (Hebrew for New Year ofthe Trees) seder/dinner.  Yours in Him, Deb
