    Hello from Kentucky

    Good morning,I have enjoyed lurking long enough I am ready to take partBig SmileMy name is Becky and I live in southeastern kentucky I have all my life.I am 38 I have two daughters 16and19,and a wonderful husband of 21 years.I became fasinated with frugality about 12 years ago when I read tightwad gazette.I look forward to learning more.Becky

    Greetings from Dallas Becky!

    My Mom was from Kentucky, the Richmond/Union City area (outside of Lexington).

    I've spent many a summer in Richmond while growing up and truly believe that Kentucky is home to some of the best food in the USA.

    My DH and I get an Old Ham every couple of years and make one for the holidays.

    For me, the older the better! Dh didn't grow up around sugar-cured ham so we soak it longer than usual, but even then, DH will still comment on the saltiness but keeps on eating

    I hope you have some recipes to share!
