As I was using my grapefruit knife to scoop the seeds and strings from a winter squash, I thought I should share the idea. Similarly, I wear my rubber gloves to brush my furniture to get the cat fur off. You probably have some atypical uses for kitchen tools as well. Please share your ideas. AM

Outdoor Clothing 

Doesn't every woman use a butter knife for a screwdriver? How else do you tighten loose pan handles? I use a pancake turner to scrape dried scrambled eggs from a skillet.

 I use a cheese slicer to peel potatoes...so much gentler on the fingers than the skinny, twisty thing.

 I use a pastry blender, the"U" shaped kind with thick wire blades, to mash up hard boiled eggs. It gets more use for that than the once a year I make pies.

Pat, your comment about the butter knife made me smile.They are so handy to grab one in a hurry. I hate to admit it, but I have used them as paint stirrers (carefully washed afterward of course )

Cookie cutters make great tracing patterns for little ones.

plastic gloves can be used to remove the small  garter snakes that grandson chase the girls with ....

my boys can tell you how good a grate is for playdough and the cookie cutters that you can use  and  they can tell you Mama comes unglued when you use her cookie press ...
