Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
I woke up at 5:30 this a.m. I've been breathing through my mouth at night b/c my nose gets stopped up whenever I sleep; my lip cracked and it was just irritating enough to wake me. DD will be up soon and we will have breakfast together. Today I will need to do some grocery shopping. I couldn't do it yesterday; still too wiped from the cold. We ate dinner in town last night; $25 out including tip. After 2 days of eating just enough to get by we were hungry, but DH and I just weren't up to cleaning the kitchen. Today I will need to get that done. I tried yesterday and fell asleep! After eating dinner though I felt GREAT -- better than I have in days, so I'm sure I'm up for getting stuff done today. So I'm going to menu plan, grocery shop, and clean the kitchen. I'm really glad soccer season is over for now; 1 less thing to get done today. I will need a little time at the computer to send home Halloween pics of DD to her grandparents. When I spoke with DD's other grandma, we decided NOT to tell her that her great-grandfather died. She did not know him and she does not handle passings very well. The custodian at her preschool passed away a year ago and she cried over it several times during the first 6 months or so and still becomes weepy to this day; she adored him -- all the kids did -- but him being gone was harder on her than anyone expected. I'm glad my DD is compassionate, but we do not want to burden her unnecessarily.

Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
Yea! today we head to Rochester to visit DD2 at college to celebrate her birthday - I made a tortilla/chile/cheese casserole last night to take with us, and am thinking about making some peanut butter cookies this morning to take too. That pretty much takes care of our day. I vacuumed the car last night, picked up my new glasses and went grocery shopping. The grocery shopping was so sloooww as I usually don't do the shopping and I had to keep reviving myself after I saw the prices, lol. Nah, just was trying to stay within my budgeted amount so it took a while to decide what to get and what to skip - I bought the toilet paper, and skipped the juice and meat, gotta have my priorities! So some money out today for gas, and for lunch out. Tonight we'll be back home, recovering from the car trip. peace.

Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
Thursday night we got some great news, ds#1 had to be in to work yesterday earlier than his buddy who he's been staying with could have him home so he came home for the night. While he was letting us know how long he planned to grace us with his presence this time (1 night) he told us that he signed up for health &life insurances at work so he is no longer amoung the uninsured. He is definately taking big strides towards independance incluiding planning to get an appartment with his buddy and another friend as soon as the 3rd one gets a job and can pay his part of the bills.
Today should be a bit on the stretchy side the ds's get paid today so we'll do the banking and errnads later. Lastnight dh was looking through his clutter area and came across a gift card we got last year for Thanksgiving while we're out we'll see if it's still good or not. If there's still money on it we'll save it for either Thanksgiving or emergancy groceries. Sometime today dd#1 is taking ddd#2 to Chuckie E Cheese's for several hours letting her sister run and play in the tube while she does her studying. While they're gone I'm going to try and finish up the pumpkin I cooked on Sunday I've got all my pumpkin breads for Christmas and bake sales (the church sold out of everything on election day btw), the Thanksgiving day pumpkin pie and have enough left over for another pie and some muffins or a cheesecake. I've got a few zucchini that I bought over a week ago that need to be grated up and cooked before they go bad, I've got enough bread so am thinking maybe brownies of muffins. If I get the baking done and I still have any energy left I'll make dd#2 a set of flannel sheets with either a matching nightgown or pj's which will give her a grand total of 3 sets of sheets in the even of an accident or getting sick in bed.
Yesterday while we were cleaning and orgainizing the freezer dh was surprised to see that we still had cubed steaks so supper tonight will be chicken fried steak. When we finished he was even more surprised to see how much room we had after all.

Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
Good morning all,
Just made oatmeal pancakes for DD and me and now we are off to her gymnastics class. I walk while she is doing that. I just can't sit there for an hour. I used to, but it was too much for me. The parents of the other kids are nauseating to say the least. ;-) Wow, I am in a GREAT mood! LOL
Anyway, there is a community garage sale going on and I think we will pop by. Looking for some misc. items. Would like ot find some more candles and fabric ribbon. Also whatever else is good find.
Tonight, not sure what is for dinner, I think a big ol' salad with soem left over chicken and pull some soup out of freezer. I bought our turkey yesterday for 8.00 and that is good deal and so T-day at my house.
Besides the garage sale, will try to keep it on the stretchy side.
Have a great day all!

Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
Scott brought back my computer today.
The cable for my printer is shot. He will bring a replacement cable when he brings my 22 inch monitor next week. So,,,,,,I cannot print anything right now.
I pulled out a package of pork loin from the local gourmet shop. I could have that for supper.
You just wouldn't believe the hard drive problems my computer had.
Believe it or not, the total bill including 2 housecalls was under $300.00. I still have to pay for the monitor & cable.

Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
The community garage sale was fun. We didn't spend much at all. DD found a dress and an Abocrombie Jacket for 3.00. I found some candles, new and an expresso maker. It comes with a coffee pot, so I can't use that part, no timer, but I am going to see how much I like the expresso maker and if I like it, I am going to treat myself to a new one. It was only 2.00.
I went to the market and picked up some expresso for in the morning.
I hope to find some expresso cups I had in my garage, if not, I will buy a couple.
Pretty stretchy day, all food ffrom home.

Re: Saturday November 7 Stretching
Sunday I'm going to UNO and I'll use one of my birthday coupons. I'm meeting my friend there.
Her brother-in-law died last night and the funeral isn't until November 15th. Right now she's trying to get her life organized about the time off from work and how she'll get to Florida.
Aurora is not happy at being put in her carry case this week so I wouldn't lose her when people came over to work.
I'm getting an estimate this week about the heat pumps.
I'm really grateful to have been able to have used the computer at the library this past week.
I've spent time reading and watching tv this week plus I've slept a lot.
