    Re: Wednesday November 4th Stretching

    Hi everyone,

Should be a very stretchy day here.  I brought the semi-homemade soup that I made on Sunday for lunch today.  Also brought some crackers and cheese as well as a piece of pecan pie.  I bought the pie along with a bucket of cookie dough from my granddaughter thru a school fundraiser.

I'm making new Christmas stockings this year since we have a new granddaughter so I've been working on them every evening hoping to have them finished by Thanksgiving Day when I put up my tree.  So far I've only spent $11.00 and I'll be making 9 stockings.  I figure I'll probably spend another $15.00 on the buttons and sequins for them.  That's less than I spent on 1 store bought stocking at Hobby Lobby and then took to have monogrammed so I think I'm doing pretty well cost wise.  I also have to humbly admit, these are turning out very cute.  DH even made the comment about how nice they would look across the mantle and he never notices stuff like this.

Yesterday turned out to be very productive for me.  I got 3 loads of laundry completely done and put the towels in the washer just before we went to bed.  I also unloaded, reloaded and started the dishwasher.  I made my BFF's tinkerbelle pillow that I'm giving her for her birthday.  Choose the yarn colors and wound the yarn to balls for the slippers I'm attempting to make Momma.  Made myself 2 meals (mostly microwaved) then cooked supper for DH.  And washed the few dishes from supper by hand.  Such victories when sometimes it is so hard to just get out of bed and have a shower!

Today will not be stretchy.  I'm taking my BFF out to dinner for her birthday and then wil go to the casino with her and watch her play.  (I really like that!)  I have dried, folded and put away the towels I washed last night and washed my speacial blanket.  It is in the dryer now.

I won't do much else today.  I have to choose where to expend the energy and keeping up with BFF tonight wqill be a chore!

Busy morning, I have apple butter in cooking. Hope to get it canned today. Cooked up the small carrots from the garden putting ito small. couldnt  throw them out. Cooked up the last of the tiny potatoes, boiled some eggs, made potato salad. Also a  pot of ice tea to drink. Need to do a load of laundry but waiting until DD is home from work. Then I can throw her work clothes in this load. She tends to wait and do a small load for work clothes but it is a waste of soap and water. Trying to change her habits on this. Dh is out of town for a funeral. Dont think that he will be back for dinner. I am just planning grilled cheese. If he is home, I can open a can of soup for him or leftover chilli. This weekend is special missions services at church. There is a special practice this evening so I will have to go . I interpret for the Deafso need to see how this will happen. There is a parade of flags from all the countries that we support missions. People will carry the flags and dress in internationl clothing. There is also some sort of dance to a song. I need to figure out where to stand so people can see me and whwat is happening. Have a nice day, Babs

my other post got lost in cyberland....

I did some stretching this last week by usin some free paint from a promotional deal, and painted the basement. I have enough to do the office room too. The carpeting needs replacing badly, we think we can do it for $60.

Need to freshen things up in case we end up selling in the spring.

Good news is dh billed out $140 for a side job, has a $90 one coming next week, and one to look at on saturday. All small stuff, but I am so very thankful. I told him 'wouldn't it be great if this was beginning of side jobs again?!"

Picked up a free bag of Eukanuba dog food today at Petsmart, bought a $1.79 goldfish for ds' empty fishbowl. I just turned egg money into a fish! Got some samples at Home Depot for paint for the living room. Charged $15 at Tractor Supply for goat feed.

I hate to say it, but now I'm hoping Ill get to keep my girls...the other guy can have my buck LOL. Im just realizing how much Ill miss them. I wish i could find a way to afford them. They do bring me joy.Smile

Used our free coupons for McD's breakfast stuff and it came to $3.87 ....cash for that.

I am minus my computer. It is getting a new hard drive. Scott hopes to bring it back on Thursday morning. Scott and the gang at Franktronics are fixing my computer & fixing it so I haven't lost my files. It will not cost as much as a new computer would. I am still getting a new monitor.

I am at the library using the computer.

Scott talked me out of buying a Verizon HP Netbook.

A couple of you have my phone numbers. I have voice mail on the cell phone, but just Caller ID on the landline.

I sent ToniB an answer to her email.

Today we are marking yet another day in limbo the only thing dh knows is that the student suddenly recanted the time but everything is still up in the air. We can't get a lawyer till the union says they've done all they will thankfully from the sounds of it someone in the union (I doubt it's his steward) is fighting for him to keep his job. We got his last paycheck for awhile and that along with the very very small savings I have should be enough to cover most of the bills for the month with only 2 very minor ones being neglected and I have to remind myself that's a better position that a lot of people are in. While we were in the area I stopped to see the friend who left our church at the bishop's request to run another which helped my mood a lot. I called displaced homemakers and have an assessment appointment on the 17th to see what if anything I can do should I need to get back to work and support the family in the future. Dh is helping with the chores around the house right now in a little while I'll show him how to put dd#2's yard toys up for the winter some of them come apart and all of them can fint in her play house if done the right way.

I'm trying to get so that I eat more than I have been there were days last week were I only took in 300 calories a day and am trying to get back to eating more and eating healthy. I did have one thing to laugh about yesterday I took in 1000 calories and lost a pound, when I looked at my calorie chart I noticed that 500 of them were in some form of chocolate or another.

I'm going to try cooking supper taco's on flour tortillas if I eat one or not will be a diffrent story.

    Re: Wednesday November 4th Stretching

My sleep schedule is out of whack and I'm exhausted! I hate that feeling - I wake up at 2:30 a.m. and can't get back to sleep, then can't go to bed til 11 or midnight. The bags under my eyes are starting to get bags, lol. I need to get back to a daily walk - that might be enough to wear me out and be able to sleep at night. DD pointed me toward her former employer, Kohl's (a department store), as a possible place to find part time work. She wasn't crazy about working there - (it was booorrrring, but for her everything is boring) - even she admits they scheduled her work hours around her school and other work schedules and would put her back on during school breaks when she was home for three weeks or so. And if (er, I should be positive and say WHEN) I get full time work I could stay there part time until the credit cards are paid off. Anyway, it's just one idea. OH, i just realized I started feeling crummy when we bought the halloween candy in the middle of Oct, and we still have some leftover - i sneak several pieces a day - and my old body can't handle food that is pure junky. d'oh, guess I know what I need to do....eat better, lol. Have a great evening. peace.

That's terrible about the continued pastor troubles.  At least you are extricating yourself somewhat to save your sanity, Cinnamon.

I haven't been around for a couple of weeks because I started my new job. I'm so tired and after talking to people on the phone all day, I don't want to talk to anyone else, lol.

I'm lurking and following your progress with Heart, Deb.  She sounds like a peach. Animals have such a way of healing parts of our souls.

I'm not being stretchy; I've been eating out lunch every day.  I think I've let myself get too hungry and then my resistance is down.  When I was younger eating out was one of the few times my family was happy and all together.
