When I picked up my turkey on the First at Wal-Mart Jen-o was .80 cents and Butterball was.98 cents. I got one each.

I went to Wal Mart this evening and they had tom turkeys for 40 cents a pound but thet were sold out. The associate told me that they get a truck every two to three days so I will be checking every once in a while. I think I will stock up on turkeys. For that price I don't mind having a few on hand to feed my family.

There must be a glut of turkeys this year. I was able to get 2 of them yesterday for 39 cents a pound each. But they were very small turkeys, which works great for me. Both turkeys together were less than $6.00. They're never that cheap here!

I made it back to walmart on Tuesday and bought one 40 cent turkey. Went back yesterday to buy another and again they are sold out. I am wanting at least one more and there is a limit of two. Which I would of got Tuesday but didn't hace the funds.

I don't know if it's ALL Kroger's or maybe just the ones down here (southern Texas), but this week Jenny O's turkeys are $.27/lb., but the limited is one.  Also, and I'm almost ashamed to post this............last weekend we stopped at a grocery store that we don't normally shop at because they are dreadfully expensive (only located in Texas), but sometimes their loss leaders are fairly great.  Well, they are listed as a location that carries Smithfield Hams on the Smithfield Ham web sites.  Last year between my DH and myself we went to all of the stores within miles of here, and none of them had any SF Hams.....one meat manager said that he had never even heard of them.  ???????  Well, I gave up and bought another brand of ham, and figured that was the end of that ( I'm probably the only person in the world that does NOT like spiral cut hams, I like to cut them myself ).  Anyway, my DH was looking at the ham section this weekend and I was over looking at something else, when he comes over and asked what the name of the ham that I was always looking for and I told him Smithfield Ham.  He said, "They have 4 of them."  Well, I flew over to that section and grabbed two......didn't even look at the price.........didn't even care what it was.......they were Smithfield Hams and life was good!  Well, when we checked out the total bill was very low............I thought it was strange, but I did have coupons.  Got home and took  my two hams out of the bag....just to look at them awhile and gloat........and I looked at the price tag and they were only $1.19/lb.  They are definitely the "real" Smithfield Hams and must have been marked wrong!  I called the store (I just felt guilty), and they said "The  price marked is the price you pay, even if we made an error".  So now I don't feel so guilty........................but DH wouldn't let me go back and buy the other two.....said I was being a little bit "piggy".  He's right and I hope someone else got to those last two hams!!!!!!

I was at the Walmart near me yesterday and all they had was Butterball turkeys at around a dollar a pound. No Jennie-O nor any other brand. Very disappointing. Hopefully they'll get more in soon.
