    All of the above. Smile

I don't think I have any favorite author or book, although I have an old one by Montse Stanley called "The Handknitter's Handbook" that I refer to when I'm looking for a different stitch or technique to keep from being bored.

I throw the yarn. Never did learn to lace the yarn through my fingers and now if I try, my hands cramp up, so I guess I'll never learn.

I like aluminum needles for the most part because they're lightweight and last forever. I've used plastic and didn't like the feel of them and bamboo seemed too light. The only type of needle I don't care for is circular. It irritates me to have to pull the stitches over the enlarged area from the cable.

I use all sorts of yarn; acrylics, wool, cotton and combinations. Haven't tried silk yet because it's so expensive and I'm not sure the cost would be worth it.

Re: Do You Have a Favorite Knitting Book - or Author?

Most of my patterns have been free/online. I do own a few books and magazines, but I can't say I have a favorite author or book.

I have only crocheted for 5 years and am just learning to knit.  I'm learning Continental because I've heard that's easier for crocheters to learn.  I love learning new techniques, so now knitting has opened a whole 'nother range of

Have only used aluminum hooks and needles up to this point.  I bought some bamboo needles and can't wait to try them.

My stash consists of both natural and man-made fibers.  I'm starting to lean towards the naturals - or at least blends with natural fibers.

I'd have to say my favorite types of patterns - the categories where I have the most saved: ... doilies/threadwork (crochet), lace, bags, sweaters, and amigurumi.
