DEBLANEAZ - I so admire the loving care you give your Mother.  I know how hard it is taking care of a fading parent, but enjoy every moment you can with her, she'll be gone far too soon.

My computer has crashed with a blue screen three times so far today.

I called my computer geeks. He will be out here to repair it with lots of memory. We think it might be a bad memory chip.

If it is too expensive to repair, I'll be getting a new computer.

I deal with a local company. He opened it six years ago in his garage. Today he's moved into a huge former mattress store. Now he has room for sales and classes. The classes start in the Spring.

Yes, I'll be taking classes there.

Scott and Frank wouldn't let me get Vista in 2007. I have Windows XP-Professional.

Vista sucks!  Get windows 7, dh has an advance copy and likes it.  He works in IT.  Vista is the reason for windows 7.

Jilli,  I hope Bailey doesn't have cancer.  Our cat Bob was big and lost a lot of weight about 4mths before his jaw cancer showed up, a bony mass. didn't hurt him. He passed away about 6mths later.  That is why I thought of it though thinking of losing a loved pet is awful hard.

first frost this morning but now nice and sunny.  bright. ds and I picked up the containers for my friend and then to the library and safeway, gave up the idea of baking cookies. safeway had orange sugar cookies with orange sprinkles for 3dz for $2.50 so got two packs, one for ds class party and one for moms group.

should get up and clean but surfing the net.  will get up and make lunch in a few minutes. can always clean when ds is in school. lol

Spent the day at my MIL's working on crafts, and stuff. No money out today...YAY!! Going to the grocery either tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning after the kids go to school. Brought home a 2ltr. of coke from MIL's and had lunch there as well.

We ended up having pizza last night, so the venison, potatoes, and corn are the menu for tonight!!

She's eating as much as she always has, so we don't know why she's so skinny unless it's the diabetes

    Dear jillibean,

Has your sweet pooch been checked for heartworms.  We lost our's one year.  We did not know she had them.  We had her treated, but it did not work.

I ate lunch at our fave rest. so spent $7 for mexican food and the tip.   Will be eating spaggetii at home tonight.  I will do my shopping at Sprouts tomorrow.

I sure hope they have some good sales.  So far their prices have been unbeatable in this area.

    Jill,

If Bailey has diabetes, that is most likely why she is losing weight. The insulin helps the food get into her cells so it can be used. If there is no insulin then the digested food can't be used and she can eat all day and she won't gain weight.Sometimes the cells become resistant to the body's insulin and won't accept it. I don't know what kind of medication she gets--if it's a shot that is insulin--the vet would give her that if he thinks her body is not making any insulin.  If she takes pills those are an oral agents and the vet is thinking that her body is still making some insulin but it isn't working correctly. The oral agents works on the body to make it produce more insulin and to help the cells accept her own insulin. You might try adding more fat to her diet--oils , margarine, peanut butter. Watch the amount of carbohydrate she gets--sugars, starches. My heart goes out to you.I know how painful it is to watch a beloved pet hurting.

I took advantage of a special meat sale this week at the grocery store. Any five speciality marked packages for $20. I got Boneless Sirloin Steak, Butterfly Pork Chops, cubed steak and Cube Steak. I saved $18.91 off the regular store price on the meat, which I will freeze.

I've had few problems with Vista, other than incompatibilities with some of my old programs. Of course, I turned off Aero and any power-hungry features.  I like XP but it's just not secure.  With a business on the premise, and me doing business correspondence online, we've had problems with spyware and, especially, keyloggers.  I've had to update encryption, and my XP laptop doesn't want to run WPA2/AES, so it's time to update and get better drivers.I honestly believe that some of the keylog scams are coming from 2 blocks away at the phone company office, because I've found hacks and cracks on the DSL.  3 keyloggers in one day is just too much.  The bad news is that my favorite anti-spyware never made it to Vista, and is now discontinued.  The second best is OK, but it's still second, and my whining and grousing to the company hasn't gotten Internet Cleanup reinstated.

Win7 is supposed to be far more secure, probably because the various hacker mafiosi simply haven't had time to crack its codes yet.  I've been alternately screenshotting driver files and file paths, just in case, while Cuz yells at me every 10 minutes--he's been OTR for 2 days and I'm tempted to throw him a bottle of Midol.  The screenshots are now on disk, and I can start tearing down and screwing up tomorrow morning after mail call.  I dread this...

I haven't had that many problems with Vista, but I don't like the way it does things. I hate to have to go hunting for a program ( for instance, where is the calculator? I found it one time and made a shortcut). Every time I start to do something, I have to spend too much time trying to figure out how and where. It also irritates me to have to stop and "allow" a program or action when I've started it to begin with. I'd rather have to sign in as admin to start with. If it were truly secure, that would be enough. I haven't found much about it that's better than XP as far a using it goes.
