I've had few problems with Vista, other than incompatibilities with some of my old programs. Of course, I turned off Aero and any power-hungry features. I like XP but it's just not secure. With a business on the premise, and me doing business correspondence online, we've had problems with spyware and, especially, keyloggers. I've had to update encryption, and my XP laptop doesn't want to run WPA2/AES, so it's time to update and get better drivers.I honestly believe that some of the keylog scams are coming from 2 blocks away at the phone company office, because I've found hacks and cracks on the DSL. 3 keyloggers in one day is just too much. The bad news is that my favorite anti-spyware never made it to Vista, and is now discontinued. The second best is OK, but it's still second, and my whining and grousing to the company hasn't gotten Internet Cleanup reinstated.
Win7 is supposed to be far more secure, probably because the various hacker mafiosi simply haven't had time to crack its codes yet. I've been alternately screenshotting driver files and file paths, just in case, while Cuz yells at me every 10 minutes--he's been OTR for 2 days and I'm tempted to throw him a bottle of Midol. The screenshots are now on disk, and I can start tearing down and screwing up tomorrow morning after mail call. I dread this...
