nattieandtjsmom and sister sissy, try sitting out in the boon docs in the out house in winter with no door on the out house in colder then a witchs....... in a brass sling brazeer in winter it gets down to 40's amd 30 now finally I brought out my  wool sweaters when I was homeless at one time I was told you wear cotten with wool if your wet to the bone then get in warm clothes as soon as posible reason why yeah small kids can suffer hyperthermia quick and so can people who were on the street so I live in a nice home now but I still will always wear cotten and wool durning winter.

Our temp keeps swinging, rain to snow to 58 today!  I have everything out, it seems!

Going through clothes, was able to give a family 2 winter coats, a pair of snowpants, and the baby's highchair!  Felt good to have enough to share.

Having a hard time keeping mittens and shoes and boots stored, they are avalanching all over the place.

    nattieandtjmom:
It really surprised me that I had enough clothes for both for the winter.  Most of the items were from thrift stores and rummage sales. The only items they now need is underwear, shoes, socks and Natalie needs a belt and tights.  Now I just have to start collecting clothes for summer.

Don't you love it when you have pretty much what you need at the beginning of the season?  This year is the same for me pretty much for all three kids.  My daughter needs tights and a few solid turtlenecks and church shoes.  DS#1 needs church shoes too, that is it!  I found church shoes for DD already, got two cute pairs at Target (brown and black) for under $25.  I looked for my son, but the shoes there were expensive (over $20!), so I'm going to try Wal-Mart.  If I can't get shoes for him for under $20 then I'll head over to the Stride Rite outlet.  For church shoes I have been trying to get them at Target/Wal-Mart/Payless since they are only worn once a week and then buy everyday shoes at Stride Rite.  However the cost of shoes are going up and it's getting to the point where shoes at the Stride Rite outlet are comperable in price to Target!

I also get, probably 90% of what the kids wear second handing, rummage sales, garage sales and through hand-me downs.  It's it great?!?  I'm enjoying it while I can, I know that as they get older that'll be harder to do, but for now we've been blessed to be able to get the majority of their clothing that way.
