    Re: What now?

Dear Amy, Having my Heart has done good things for me,,but a bad thing for Forumites, which is that I have nto been reading & posstiing.  I am so sorry to hear of yor plight.

Can you apply for SNAP/Food Stamps?  Can you aapply for Medicaid?  (That would pay for your prescriptions & the concommitatn doctros' bills.)  If you have any questions about these programs, there's a sub-forum in Can You Hwelp? that I run where you can ask.

You asked me sooome time back to pray for you to be admitted to nursing school.  Have you been?  That is a great investment, & you willlllll be in a good positionn once you graduate.

Coould yur husband use his experitse in electricity as a step to st udying electronics?  SUrely, there are MANY kinds of & numbdeers of electronics jobs!

You NEED your pets now more than ever, for emotional support.  I pray that you can find a way to keep tehm!!!  Love in Him, Deb

    Re: What now?

Call the bank and ask them who cleans their foreclosed properties.  They may have more than one firm.  The work is temp and part-time, usually 10/hour.  Call all of those firms and see if they need help, or if you want self-employment and your husband have yard tools and a generator, you can do this work.  You will have to underbid current contracts and do dirty work, without power, so you can schedule vacuuming and generator jobs on the same day, and hubby can cut yard, weedeat, and haul off the garbage and old tires.

If this lead doesn't pan out, advertise to rent a room or two, get a renter, and only then should you call the bank and negotiate to have your payments lowered to interest-only for a few months.  Banks have too darned many foreclosures on their hands, dope dealers have too much money on theirs, and the loan officer has very good reason not to have your house auctioned off on the courthouse steps for half or less of the outstanding balance. This may take some brass, so come up with some good alternatives and use them, including the great rationale that once you have your RN, you will be more than able to catch up on their good wages.

    AmyC:
We did find out that the company DH was laid off from will have work January 1st, and they want DH back at that time.  If we can hang on a few more months!

Amy, I just heard on fox news 13 that the Utah unemployment benefits have been extended for another 12 weeks.  That should help you hang on for a few more months!  12 weekswill put you into January!
