Today will be no spend for me.  Spent money yesterday at Costco and also on some needed clothes for the kids.  Am going to review my pantry today to see what I can come up with.  I have a dual goal of sticking to my budget in groceries/household supplies and also in the little to no spending category this month.  Would love to come up with extra to pay off debt or to put aside for the holidays.

Been a long day.  DD is sick and so is baby.  I have been feeling worse and worse throughout the day and am sick now too.  Yuck.  Very tired, crabby, etc.

Am very proud of myself though as I almost called DH and asked him to pick up a pizza for dinner on his way home since we have been sick all day.  I didn't do it!  Thought of this thread and pulled out some pasta and made simple homemade mac & cheese for dinner.  Saved $18 by not caving into that impulse.  And didn't wreck my no spend day!

Boo that you are sick Jenn!!!  I hope tomorrow is better, but YAY on getting on with it and making something from home, when you're sick, it's the hardest, now that is resolve.

Okay, DAY 1 done!  No spend.

Had dinner at home, DD and I halved a potato, grilled some talapia and had some canned mixed veggies, not fond of those at all, but I will eat them.   I made our lunches and snacks for tomorrow and have dinner all planned out from home of course!

DD brought home her direct donation thing from school and I said, sorry, not until after Xmas, they want it now, too bad.  If they want it from me, they should be grateful I give it when my budget allows.  Gosh!

    Day one!!! Success!

Re: No Spend Days... October 5 thru 9th

Well, Dear All, I certainly have not been on No-Spend Days Friday, Sunday & yesterday!  I bought my Heart everything that she needs before she gets her initial (freee) vet visit & I see if she needs any meds/flea control/etc.  I spent a total of $243.03.  The biggest expense was her wire crate.  Although she is 10 lbs, I got her one for a 25 lb dog so that she will have lots of room to turn around, stretch, etc.  She'll only be in there when I go somewhere that won't allow service dogs -- I have to meeet with her & my Rabbi, & I'm not sure what the dentist is going to say.  (Federal law exempts, but State law does not exempt, faith-based organizations from following Service Dog & other ADA rules.).  The dentist is specifically covered by both Federal & State laws, but the law is  one thing & his cooperatiiiiion is another!

I spent $79.83 for her crate.  I spent $21.99 for a super-toy, "Hide a Squirrel" which is a plush game -- tehre's a big pllush tree trunk & 3 plush squirrels.  You inssert the squirrels into the trunk & let the doggie wiggle them out.  You get your scent on the toy by keeping it in the laundry hamper for a few days.  You can also put treats inside.  I spent $6.99 for a 6" oval doggie head with squeaker with huge rope ears for tugging.  I spent $15.99 for a leather/nylonnn 6' leash & $13.99 for a leather collar.  I spent $6.99 for a lb of 3-calorie turkey liver treats.  I spent $5.49 for 2 finger-brushers & $8.99 for 3.25 oz of canine natural toothpaste.  I spent $13.99 for a self-cleanign Sllicker Brush.  I spent $8.99 for a 10" long squeeking, pllush bear, & $1 (my bargain!) on a squeeking terry-cloth covered dacshund.  I spent $14.39 for a ceramic raised water bowl (my Trainer insisted on my getting this, & tells me to feed Heart entirely by hand, as treats.), 11.39 for a large Kong (chewing toy with peanut butter or cheese spread with kibble inside), & $3.99 for a plush football.

My Trainer gave me a portable water bowl.

Such is love!  She is my Baby.  Yours in Him, Deb

Spent $93 yesterday to have the furnace serviced -- not bad considering it sat for 2 years.  Our heating guy really did the works on it too -- vacuuming, filter change, changed out the gas pipe to one that one explode on us (yes, really!  LOL), and giving a good general once over.

But today... NO MONEY OUT!!!  So pleased with myself.  We are driving to town for DD's soccer practice, but we do that every Tuesday.  And really that might not happen if the fields are flooded from the rain....  Can't say it would bother me too much to miss....  *Shhhh don't tell DD!*

Deb, I just have to say that Heart is going to be one lucky doggie to have an owner like you!  She is going to just LOVE being your service dog, and faithful friend.  I am very happy for you.  I think Heart will change your life in many many ways.

    Good job DMC!

Today should be a no spender for me though I am low on milk.  I don't really feel like going to get it though so that helps.  Might just do without.

Yesterday was no spend for me but DH bought Subway for lunch and had a very long day, decided to grab a bottle of wine on his way home.  The wine was on sale so he bought 2 bottles.  Was nice to have a glass of wine, I won't complain, but those two purchases amounted to about $17!  Oh well, could have been worse if I had caved on that pizza (to which DH said, "You should have called me!  I would have LOVED a pizza tonight!".)  Hmmm . . . he might be missing the point here!!  Anyway, I reminded him of my goal to spend as little as possible and try to pay down debt and stick to our grocery/household budget, etc.

So still doing good, and I still consider yesterday a success as I didn't spend anything and I am the main spender.

Gee, I made it one day (yesterday) without spending...spent $11.45 on my lunch hour for milk, flour and corn meal.  It couldn't be helped though, we needed the milk for cereal in the morning. I should make it the rest of the week without spending.   Oh well.
