Gabbiecat, your daughter and your grandchildren--and you! --are in my thoughts and prayers today.

 Today will be fairly stretchy for me. I have to make a Target run, for a prescription refill, and I've got to pick up a few odds and ends to take to my DD at college--it's Parents' Weekend this weekend and she's got a big list of stuff she 'needs.' LOL  Luckily for her none of it's expensive!

The weather here in Tidewater is nice today--cool and slightly breezy, and the sun's shining. So I'll hang all my laundry on the clothesline. It feels great to open all the windows and air out the house!

Supper tonight is going to be a treat--DH will stop at Farm Fresh for a pound of their steamed shrimp. It's on sale for $5.99 today. We haven't had shrimp in ages. I'll make a couple of baked potatoes and a green veg to go with, and we'll have a fine 'restaurant' meal at a very low cost.

I'm sorry for your pain with your dd.

I have similar sorrow as my son's wife is "leaving" with the 3 kids ( 3 under 4yrs ) and moveing to live with her Dad 3,000 miles away while my son is left with the house foreclosure-repo of vehicles- loss of job - debit up to the eyeballs...and her main concern is she hopes her dad will take her to Disneyland the first week she arrives...ahhh I want to say GROW UP....but they need to learn life-lessons and I too have sent $$$ but their (both of them) choices made were poor ones....so sad.

i know it has been a while since i ave posted, but life is so buzy and crazy for us right now(still)

 ds is still at the mental hopstial, we get to see him on the 7th, i did get to speak to him yesterday, he is missing us terribliy, but he has to earn our visits, and he is still beening difient(sp?) and has not earned enough points for a reg. visit, on the 7th is our family therpy visit. dh is having  a really hard time with him being gone, staying in the bed, and going to the dog park and sitting on this huge rock that he and ds would hang out at, but he is getig somewhat better with staying in bed, just please keep us all in your prayers,

 i have to run to wally world today to pick up meds and a few grocerys

 it is sunny but cool today, 48 when i woke up this morning, windows open and no air cond. so that is good

i just want you all to know i think of all my dsc friends daily in my toughts and prayers

Thankfully DH got paid today.  I checked our account yesterday and almost chocked.  I haven't seen it this low in a LONG time. 

My 25yrold BiL called DH yesterday asking for money, as usual.  We don't have any to give, and I feel bad because I know it is for diapers for his two girls.  But right now, he's living with his girlfriends dad(who doesn't have a regular job and "uses" different drugs), girlfriends brother (who doesn't have a regular job), his girfriend (who...you guessed it...doesn't have a job--she "says" it's because she needs to be home with the kids...nice, but you don't have the money for that, girly, you can work at night when BiL gets home) and the twin girls (18mths). BiL is in HVAC(air conditioning) school, and picks up odd jobs when he can.  BiL has had problems in the past and is trying very hard to work it out and be the good citizen he should be, but I really believe that his girlfriend is a drain on his self-esteem and ability to work.  He did a job (painting a house, received cash) for $80 on Saturday, and girlfriend told her dad, so the second BiL walked through the door her dad "needed" to borrow $60.  I told BiL, he needs to keep his mouth shut to her about how much money he makes if her dad is just going to borrow it all.  The girls need things and that is why he is out working.  I just don't trust this family with my nieces.   

Made the beef soft tacos last night...I'm really surprised that my husband even attempted to eat them.  I consider myself a pretty good cook, but that wasn't a very good dinner last night.  And the spanish rice I made was a real flop.  I hate wasting food and by wasting food, money.  How well, live and learn.

I fell asleep on the way to work, and was so out of it that I didn't realize DH had stopped to get gas.  So when he got out of the car, he said "You have a full tank so you don't have to worry about getting gas on your way back to pick me up."  I love my DH!!!! 

Making chicken pot pie for dinner tonight with the leftover chicken from this weekend.  I know that will be good.

Good Morning to all...

Ahhh and a warm morning it is, as I drove into work at 6:00am it was 88 outside .... hey where is fall?

Today will be a busy work day - I will be here at least 11 to 12 hours...end of month ughhh and so much paperwork to get done.  Should be a $$$ stretching day...except for the Kohl's discount card calling my name from my purse saying...use the 30% off today.....ahhh the temptation's :)

Morning eveyrone, Prayers to all of you.

Somewhat stretchy...the fair is in town and I'd planned not to go but a bunch of co-workers are going out there for lunch and convinced me I needed a fried cheese on a stick, its my favorite fair food.  If we get out there before 1:00 there is no parking or gate fee so the only money out is for the food.  I can handle that. 

Still no cool weather here.  The high today is 90. I'm so ready to turn off my air conditioner and open some windows but I guess that will have to wait.

Pumpkin, Prayers to your BIL and his family on making good financial choices. Maybe buy a box of diapers and drop it off? But I understand if you don't want to support bad habits of others.

Work is stressful right now, I shouldn't even be taking a 10 min break but needed to just clear my brain from work stuff. Should calm down by the end of the week (hopefully). I have a meeting at 3:30 today and should know more info on my job duties then (will they increase with no pay or stay the same? hmmm).

It's payday so that is a good thing. When I went online last night, my bank had $150ish more than I had in my account which really bothers me. I am ok with the bank having more but I think i need to go back and find which checks have not cleared. I don't write many checks and I know it wouldn't be a debit transaction as they clear quickly. Or I just did bad math in my check register. I'm not counting on this money by any means but am particular enough that I need to have my checkbook and bank statement match. I haven't had it balance to the penny in a long time but usually pretty close. So hopefully will have time to work on that tonight after church activities. Dinner will be breakfast: eggs, toast, sausage and fruit. Quick and easy. I may make pancakes if time. Yum.

Good morning all,

Dixie nice to "see" you here.

Today, all food from home.  Last night I ate the left over salmon that DD didn't like for dinner and today I brought in a left over burger patty with rice and corn and finished off that meal.  Tonight either fish again or burger again.  I found a couple burgers in freezer that need to be eaten sometime this week.  I also have some grilled chicken in the fridge too that will eat up.  Probably make up the fish first, to be done with it.

Making some raspberry lemonade from a can in the freezer too.

DD didn't like the waffles in her lunch, so it looks like we will be eating them at home.  I thought she liked em that way, ho hum!  Oh well.  Today, DD had yogurt and an english muffin from freezer, I have one left.  I will use it to make for mcmuffin with egg white tomorrow morning breakfast.

I have one can of cat food left, so Kitties are going to get very little for the next two days, as I do not want to go shopping until saturday.  I have gone over my list and the loss leaders, then crossed off stuff that really can do without until the following week.  I want to stick to 60.00 a week.  Its still two hundred a month because of the way I rotate the weeks with only 4 weeks. 

So... really feeling stretchy these days. 

I get to pick up my pics from Pennys on saturday too!

Best wishes for everyone so that their kids grow up!!  That is one thing I dread, my kids having kids with the wrong people or not doing the right thing by the kids or me raising them.  good luck!! 

Dixie,  I hope your son get better soon.  sounds like he is at a good place for now.   Is there any groups he can join? or hobbies? to get his mind off ds for now?

no big plans today.  skipped dd soccer practice last night with the rain though it has stopped by then. think she is starting to come down with something so thought early bedtime was better.   ds too. ds peed his pants at school yesterday. allergys meds I think making him forget because he went before school.  there is a cold going around.

so just moms group and ds school in the afternoon. have the folding highchair that we kept in at the inlaws to give to my friend at moms group.   not raining so playground time I think after school.  will drop the magazines from my mom to our neighbour when ds is in school.   making meatloaf and carrot bread today. 

went to the library and grocery shopping yesterday.  I am so used to getting things done in a rush without kids that even if I take my time, it still doens't take long.  thought I would kill 2hrs while ds was in school but just an hr.

need to stock the van with the stuff for the kids consignment store.   have to fill out the field trip form and give $4 for it. Dh can go along to help because I promised to work for my boss that day since she is gone.

off to do the dinner dishes I didn't do last night!    have a good day all!
