Tomorrow's dinner will be a beef stir fry using AF ribeyes, Aldi fzn Asian stir fry veggies, shredded AF cabbage and serving this over AF rice from August's box.  From what I've read on blogs, I will need to marinate this meat to keep it tender.

Cindy, one of my favorite dishes is corned beef and cabbage, so that idea sounds good.. I love cooked cabbage anyway.

I'm getting you hungry?? You're the one that started it! Big Smile I do love cabbage, though. This time of the year it's pretty cheap with the new crops coming in locally, so I've been eating it quite a bit.

I blame the Dollar Stretcher for the extra pounds I gained. I get very excited about meal planning and cooking when I read and post here.

Makes sense to me! I have never been one to get excited about cooking, but my interest level has gone 'way up.

Cooking and meal prep is an emotional thing for me. I equate it with being a content traditional woman. I can often determine my state of health or emotions by looking at the meals I am preparing.

My son and husband take quick meals or the use of convenience items to mean I am not feeling well or I am feeling down.

The flip side to not putting as much into meals when I am down is that I can often drag myself into a positive mood by diving into baking or trying something new from scratch.

Me too, Brandy. I feel like it is my way of providing for my family. If I'm not bringing home the bacon, at least I'm cooking it up!

My family is the type that opens up the fridge to find a snack, and iff they don't see a fully-cooked roast with side dishes and fixings, they complain that there's nothing to eat. (It's not THAT bad, but sometimes I feel that way, LOL) My meal prep ensures that they are not eating junk food or imbalanced meals. I get a lot of satisfaction from that.

And hubbie is so sweet to tell me, "Supper was good, thank you honey!" He'll also give me a kiss as he gets up to clear the table.

I do, too. But I don't get excited about it. I do feel a sense of satisfaction at times, but since the kids are grown and out of the house, I don't cook real meals that often. This forum is good for me, because it inspires me to actually do that.
