I agree with the small town mentality.

Our little town is in the top ten, although we actually want to move to someplace more rural.

One small town where I spent childhood years is now in the ash-heap pollution zone, and arsenic is going into the ground water.

Another has a corrupt police force, including child protective services.

Jacksonville, FL--schools which have lost and regained accreditation, and should lose it again for diluting their curricula.  Violence problems.

St. Augustine, FL--OK schools, cheap land outside city, terrible and humid climate.

Knoxville, TN--good schools, terrible air pollution, criminal parasitism on new arrivals.

Tuscaloosa, AL--good schools, bad racism, poor pay, outer rim of Birmingham's steel-mill and coal-mining air pollution zone.

Tallahassee--good schools, poor pay, beautiful surroundings, pollen nine months out of the year and terrifying ragweed.

Chattanooga, TN--drugs, police corruption, burglary central station, 28,000 unanswered 911 calls, and a judge who thought rapists need dating services.

N GA--extensive unemployment, meth and cheap heroin in schools, beautiful climate

My "little" city made the list in the 30's.  I love it here.  The crime rate is low, the weather is great with the exception of the wind in the spring and we could use a little more rain.  Very little snow and hardly ever any ice.  Also, the unemployment rate is low.
