    Avatars

Getting rid of the Gray Man is fairly simple. Click your profile link at the top right, then look at the tabs across the top of the text box. Choose "Avatar," and you can upload one from your computer. Remote hosting is not allowed right now. Avatars need to be sized 80 X 80, but if yours is close, the software will resize it. Make sure your image is square to avoid distortion.

    Edited:

Now you can only use a remotely hosted image. It must be called with HTML, must be 80 X 80.

Hi Pat. I wanted to add that you have to make sure the "avatar is allowed" button is clicked and then, after you upload an image, you have to click on the update or whatever it's called. I missed that and had to do it over again.

Thanks! I should have added those. As a matter of fact, I missed the "update" thing the first time, too!

    Re: Re: Avatars

    Hi Pat,

You responded to my question elsewhere, on how to put up a picture. I thank you for sharing this information with me, but I've already read it. This is what I read to get the instructions on how to do it. I did it, and waited, and nothing happened.

So I'm asking where I could have messed up?  I will try to do it again in a few minutes and let you know if I was successful.  If not, any ideas on, for example, most common mistakes or something?
    Thanks,

    Cheryl

    Re: Re: Avatars

Cheryl, did you make sure the "avatar is allowed" button is clicked? Also, as per pcgrandma's post above, make sure you click on "update" and then on "save." Both are necessary for it to work. Let me know if you're still having trouble with it.
