I just moved my dental visit in January 2010 to December 2009.

I will need a bunch of deductions for 2009 due to many things.

I've been told that I can get a nice tax credit by installing 2 new heat pumps before 2009 is over. It falls under improvements and it counteracts something called capital gains.

The neat thing about the heat pumps is that I'll see a difference on the electric bill.

VNW, I think capital gains is from the sale of your rental house, if my understanding of it is correct.

I think it would basically help keep you from paying such high taxes on the income you are going to make from selling the rental house.  Could be helpful if there's a possibility your yearly taxes would have a significant increase....

I guess that you can tell that the septic system is FINALLY installed ! LOL. All this rain has kept it from being done months ago.

The house is not sold.....yet. It will be sold, though. Trust me. I have the best realtor in my area.

Because of the sale, I have to come up with some good tax breaks. I also have spent a fortune on the rental house for repairs. I signed the checks for Mom as her Power of Attorney.

There are many days when I wish that I could claim Aurora as a tax deduction ! LOL.
