Beware of this scam.... It's from an ad that runs almost daily. When I turn on to aol, I can still see it.
It's for teeth whitenening and tells the story of a single mom who got her teeth whitened for only $3.97, by trying two particular products for fifteen days and then canceling (which the co. tauts as perfectly legit). In fact, the company offers you another brand to try for just an additional 97 cents and asks, while you're at it, if you'd like to to receive a wellness magazine.
They even had mail with testamonials from people, telling how great the product was, or how they had used both products for a month, having canceled after fifteen days.
I thought, "why not?" So I ordered the two, which I received a few days later. I left myself reminders to cancel within the fifteen days all over the house, so I wouldn't get charged, and I canceled within the allotted time. I even got a cancellation number.
The next day, I received my new, one month's shipment (which I had never ordered), and my checking account had showed I was billed $79.89 for the order and $10.99 for the wellness magazine, which that too, had never ordered.
When I called, I was given a website address to go to, to get a routing number, so I could return the shipment. Unfortunately, try as I might, I couldn't get one. I even tried their email, but when done posting, it wouldn't "send". Without being able to get through to the company, they would have continued billing me monthy and sending their worthless product, which stings gums something awful.
Long story short...I was billed an additional $58.00 for the other 97 cents trial offer and couldn't get through to anyone there, either. I did find about a hundred complaints similar to mine. Maybe more; I just stopped reading at that point.
I called my bank's fraud department and they knew about this co. I got the charges reversed, luckily, because not all banks do this. The co. claims the fifteen day trial started the second you typed your name and people didn't cancel soon enough (even if they had, in fact, done so).
Ending lesson...you get nothing for nothing. I had to learn the hard way. What a scam, I'm embarrassed I fell for it, and they are still at it.
