Thanks for the link, Gayla! I've bookmarked it too. :)
Gayla!! cool link thank you... Oh found my book that was in storage from the food bank its kida of like what the 2 valumes you wrote but the recipies are too starchie thats how come I like your recipes keep it up..
Can you really make all those recipes for $5? Prices vary so much that I think you'd have to be careful. What meals do you make that are $5 and less?
I'm with you Pat even though the recipes do look good I don't beleive you can make very many of the for $5.00 unless you have the ing. already on hand. I don't get their idea of the price of cheese with it being almost $3.00 per 8 oz. here their prices look like they may be from the 80's or early 90's and milk at over $4.00 per gallon with tax. Maybe they grow some of their own for the recipes.
I don't think they're meant as an absolute guide to a $5 meal. The challenge is for viewers to post recipes and the cost for their family and the cost isn't limited strictly to a $5 meal. Here are the challenge guidelines: http://www.5dollardinners.com/2007/01/5-dinner-challenge.html
I use it for ideas. :)
