    Homeschooling in Arizona

I have a friend who is making use of charter schools for her children in Arizona. I find the educational options there very interesting. Does anyone homeschool in that state? Do you have resources that may help a new homeschooler in that area to get started?

Hi! Arizona is a state with very little homeschool requirements. You can basically do anything you want , as long as send notice of intent to homeschool.

Are you currently homeschooling in the state?

No, I live in Ohio . Arizona is a state that has very minimal requirements though. They do not have to have any evaluations or tests. There are no requirements  for any certain amount of days of education. All you have to do is file a letter of intent to home  school within 30 days of starting home schooling. All the subjects are reading, grammar, math , social studies & science. The compulsary ages are 6-16 , but if you intend to homeschool you can hold off till 8 years  old, by sending a notice of intent to not homeschool till 8 years old. There are lots of  sites to use for learning on the internet & the public library. I saw the screen name Ohio Native but thought perhaps you had relocated there.
