I haven't gotten to plant any cold weather crops here. My garden is not yet ready. I will be growing tomatoes, green peppers, zucchini, green beans, and maybe some melons this year. I don't have a tiller and my new ground needs tilling. It's been too cold here to plant much anyway. It's supposed to get warm in the next day or two, but the rule of thumb in northern Indiana is to plant after the last frost. Usually sometime in early May. Wow! That's not too far off, is it? Forgive me, too much on my mind these days and I just realized how close that time really is. Yikes!

Looks like everyones off to a good start or at least good planning!

Yesterday I planted the last of my seeds-melons (cantaloupe, honeydew, galia-should end up with 2-3 plants of each), cucumbers (3 plants), pattypan squash (dark green, light green, yellow-2 plants of each).  I have lots of seeds left, am thinking of trying to find other places in the yard for them.  But maybe I should quit while I'm ahead and stick with the plan!

Corn is amazing!  It grows so fast-they just came up earlier this week and many now have two leaves and are a couple inches tall.  I love them!

I couldn't resist an urge to go to the garden center yesterday, so I picked up a broccoli plant just to say I'd got something. I brought it home and planted it where the peas weren't coming up. I was tempted by the tomatoes, but it's too early yet to put them out and I don't have room for anything else inside. It won't be long, though!

Pat, I know how your feeling. Today is beautiful here, and suppose to be in the high 70's for the next 4 days....everything that is planted in my garden so far should POP quickly now..... me too, I am getting soooo antsy..... I want stuff to grow so bad now, I was out in the garden singing to the plants hoping it would move them alongBig Smile....I did have to re-pot all my tomato plants this afternoon. This is now the 2nd re-potSurprise and will be the last, next time it's in the ground. That won't be until mid May to late May. My pepper plants are growing great in their pots, and thankfully they won't need re-potting.....

    Until we Newf again....

It's so bad that I went and checked the weather for the next two weeks to see if there was a frost predicted. LOL Our last frost date is mid May here. If the weather holds, I probably won't wait that long. I go out every day and sometimes twice a day and check things to see how much they've grown.
