    Household Fixes

    Hi All-

I am sure many of you are aware of the product I am about to mention but for those who have not heard of it, it is GORILLA GLUE. This stuff is amazing. You can use it on wood, metal, plastic and other things as well. You can get it at Home Depot and probably just about any other store that has like items.

Today I used it to put a top on a made over dresser that I am re-purposing for use in our office. I used a piece of MDF for the top followed the directions of application clamped it all together for a few hours and boom instant piece of office furniture. Cost: A very little bit of glue used from a $3.00 bottle.

I am sold on this product too.  I have an old pair of Clark's shoes that the stitching between the sole and the body of the shoe had literally worn through.  The shoemaker/cobbler person said it couldn't be fixed.  I used Gorilla glue and clothespins for clamps and glued them together again.  The only problem I had was the glue dried white, so I used black shoe dye to cover the white and they are as good as new!

Amy Daczcyan (TIGHTWAD GAZETTE -- & I know taht I spell her name a diffezrent way every time I refer to her!) got me hooked on the tacky style of good old rubber cement.  It holds paper, cardboard, & fabrics better than anything more expensive!

Gorilla Glue is fabulous for us, too.  We recently heard about Gorilla Tape.  I'm not sure what we'd use it on, so haven't bought it...but I'm glad to know it's there!
