    Pat:

Something that might help - make sure your browser is updated. Firefox, especially needs to be updated to work the best.

I've tried to download Firefox, but for some reason it doesn't work on my laptop. Even my son, who's our resident computer geek, can't figure out why it won't work for me. I've got to where I just blame it on Vista, because I hate Vista and it's a convenient scapegoat. LOL  So I use Internet Explorer. I'm just about the only person I know who actually likes Internet Explorer. Stick out tongue

As for updates, I'm up to date on those, I made sure of that last week while I was updating my security stuff during the Conficker 'crisis.'. I also clean out all temporary files, cookies, etc, every night, so it's not that either. I've just noticed that sometimes a site will have a glitch like that on my computer every now and again. This site yesterday, some other site next week. I've come to the conclusion it's just to keep me from ever relaxing into thinking my laptop is working perfectly. Tongue Tied LOL

I use Firefox on my laptop with Vista and had a time with it randomly freezing up until the last update a week or so ago. I hate Vista, too, and suspect that's the problem.

I've alerted the powers that be, that there might be a problem with the software here, so they can check into it.

I always use Firefox.....had too many problems with IE7 when I upgraded it and some other problems because of DirectX which opens your computer up to more malware from my understanding.

I keep everything updated.  In fact, Firefox, my anti-virus, and other frequently used software are all set up for automatic updates and some days it seems that's all it wants to do everytime I try to use it. lol

To everyone above who answered..............thank you!

I don't know what I have, but I believe Norton is something, since I pay them every year.  I think all this started when I had someone install all the updates.  At least that's what he told me he was doing.

I think I have Internet Explorer, but I never actually go there.  I think I have Word 2003, if that makes any sense?

This is the only site that I seem to have a problem ~ at least from what has been written above, I'm not the only one.

Again, thank you for your time

Word 2003 wouldn't have anything to do with your internet access; it's a separate word processing program, unless you typed your posts there and copied them to the internet sites. Edey

I haven't had any more issues since before replying to this so it seems to be working fine.

Edey?  . . . . . . Now I guess you can see I don't know too much about anything concerning the workings of a computer.  I think whatever is XP, does that make any sense?

Pat . . . . . .  Thank you for your concern ~ but it still takes quite awhile to enter your site, sign in and navigate.  I don't have problems elsewhere, but when I have the time, I will take it to come here.

    Re: Connecting to your site.................

Your ISP can help you do this. You need to investigate an ip routing issue. You may be going through a server to get to this website that is down or has latency. If you can find out which server it is, you can report it. If you can follow the instructions below, this will identify the server with the issue. Sorry if I am unclear with the following instructions. I'm accustomed to walking ppl through this over the phone.

    On your computer....

click on start>All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt (if on a Vista OS, right click on command prompt & choose run as administrator & continue)

You will get a black screen.

Type in: tracert www.stretcher.com            or          tracert 209.151.145.97

You will see a list of the servers you hit as your internet traffic gets to this website. One of them must have latency on them. Look for asterisks * and request time out, or a time of greater than 250ms. You have to look for this on each line (called a hop). The server ip is on the right side of the screen. There is a server on every line/hop. Write down the server ip address with the issue. Then go to http://ws.arin.net/whois/ and type in that address. It will tell you what company runs that server & will also give you contact info so that the matter can be resolved.

I think it's safe to say that it is not this website's server having latency because other people, including myself, are not having that issue.
