I knew you'd come through on this one, Deb! :)

I had totally missed the frozen foods thing, especially.

A good way to use those green peppers is to take a slice of green pepper and a slice or even a 2" piece of the green part of the green onion and wrap it in a 1/2 a slice of bacon and grill or bake until the bacon is crispy.  These are great inexpensive appetizers.  They are sooooooo  good.  Green peppers are cheap this time of year, and they freeze well.

I stocked up on hams AFTER Easter, when they were fixin' to expire. I bought smoked butt-portion hams for 99 cents a pound, regularly 2.99 lb. Fully cooked, ready to eat, spiral sliced even! Very good hams - picked up 6 of them. We use everything but the oink, so to speak.

I've been looking hard at other similar clearance sales. I'm really new to the stock-up game, even though I have been couponing and bargain shopping for years.

Pat, I am putting together a book to keep track of calendars, plans and such. I should definitely add this list in there, thanks.

They seem to magically disappear here the day after Easter. Maybe everyone buys them up the day before? :)

I live in Va in a very rural area and I don't know if its the same anywhere else but I have noticed around here after garden season is over you can usually get a good deal on canned vegetables. Sometimes like 4 cans for a l.00. I try to stock up on corn, peas and green beans then.

You are so organized. I'm lucky if I can make a list and remember where I put it. Wink

I haven't seen 4 cans for a dollar for a long time here, although I did buy a case of pork'n'beans for 19 cents a can about a year ago.

I am cheating a bit. I found a small company that makes a planner for the woman at home. I am ordering the refill pages in hopes I can make use of some of it and just make my own pages for other sections.
